Ok, I admit it... I have a Mac or three... a PC or four... a couple of Linux boxes too... guess I'm a tech junkie...
The biggest PITA that I face is the which machine did I have that bookmark on? which Browser? Yea, I know that I can create a local web page, somehow push them to all the machines (some are on diffrent VPN's so just a local copy/server doesn't alway connect). I have seen programs that keep multiple IE Bookmarks in sync, or multiple Safari, even one or two that claims to keep the FireFox in sync, but no one program can keep all in sync. Would like it if I added/deleted/moved a bookmark on one browser, it's on all browsers. Also would be nice to have it generate a DECENT looking html page that I could post... Most look like someone's first attempt at a web page.
Come on folks, think about it, Microsoft is the BSA (Buisness Software Alliance). $15,000 for each 'copy' of Windows... Bigger net, faster returns... when they just run a simple query where the ID is = and count is greater than 10, $150,000 in one shot, one visit. Now imagine a company of 8,000... They just want a mechism to get some serious cash...
Who knows, next time it may be someone 'painting' a target w/ the laser for something heavier, or a laser sight/ranger... Personally if I see red dots centering on something, must assume that laser rifle/pistol sight...
Ok folks, while genetic mutations happen, sometimes they are bad. In the horse world there is a halter horse known as 'Impressive'. He was what the particular comunity was looking for, massivly muscled, very high definition etc. Well since he won just about everything that he was entered in, he was bread to many, many horses. The gene that causes this is a dominate so it is passed along with about a 50% chance. The problem comes when a horse has this on both sides, he developes etc then he will die, quite a painful death. It was called 'Impressive Syndrome' for the longest time. They re-labled to be HYperkalemic Periodic Paralysis. This link is older but gives a decent background in it. The key point I am making here is that it's the gene is responsible for myostatin production. I truly hope it doesn't affect humans in the same way. It has gotten to be so bad they require testing of all of the known decendants of Impressive to be tested for HYPP, and if either side has the defect, they are not allowed to be bread (AQHA and APHA in particular). If they are, then they cannot enter the events (no $$,$$$,$$$.$$). They are intentionally trying to kill off this gene. Since the liniage of most registerd horses can be traced back several hundred years, it gave a powerful way to research this one in particular.
I remember something that Lockeed had done a ways back called ERIS. It was a manned space fighter. I don't know if it's real or not but it stands a pretty good chance of it (seeing they have claimed a few launches.
Found a couple of links about it here and here. Looks like it started back in 1985... It had two test launches and actually shot down a few things (for the gun crowd out there the 'muzzle velocity' was 44,000 fps). The tech went into cruise missles, ICBM's and missle defense programs.

Gravity does not exist, the universe just sucks.
