You should mix and match batches at least, if not manufacturers. Hard drive failures as we all know frequently occur in groups, so limit your failure points as much as possible.
I lost a unit from my RAID 5 (PROMISE SX4000 controller 4x120GB) and didn't notice a performance hit) I was still able to stream video over my network and use the storage until the replacement showed up... Of course, I was using IBM/Hitachi 120GB drives and when the replacement 120 GiB drives showed up I had to figure out how to do a backup and rebuild, but... thats a different story.
Uh, what gave you the idea that minors have any rights not granted them by their legal custodian/guardian? Esp the right to privacy. And what makes such a search "illegal"?
So in other words Al gore is responsible for the current ad infested version of the internet that has approximately reversed the signal/noise ratio from when he started getting involved. I'm not sure that I would want to take credit for taking a profitable( wordnet definition 2) tool and making it profitable (definition 1).
why do I want it?? I want it because it was promised to me as part of the DVD standard and the reason for DVD being "better" than VHS.
As it stands I have to make certain I'm getting the right version and on some titles(CHarlies angels full throttle) the version is well hidden.
I have friends that don't like watching the "broken" version with the black bars. I sometimes watch movies with these individuals, I Just want the option... And according the the claims made when DVD was young, there should be no quality or space penalties for including the scan markers.
Or shell out a couple extra nickels on a Promise or 3ware Raid5 controller and add performance and save money.
Promise SX4000 raid 5 controller 133 shipped
4 pricewatch special 200GB HDs 400 shipped
600GB usable space with full redundancy 533 or less than $1per GB
Generic Controller 16 Shipped Same drives 400 SHipped nets 400 GB of usable space at for 416$ or more than $1 per gig.
Actually it is a hybrid HW/SW solution, But the RAID Unit does have some of the HW, and the driver provides the remaining interface handling. Highpoint, 3ware and Promise have a dedicated XOR processor for the parity management and the software simply provides the drive management.... Much better than relying on your primary CPU for the XORing as well.
Raid 1 allows for redundancy by writing all data 2x. Raid 0 provides higher speeds by striping the data across 2 drives Raid 5 has striping and mirroring such that should any drive fail it's data can be recovered from the other two drives. It is also more efficient in that it allows 2/3 to 5/6 of the space to be used for storage instead of 1/2 as in a raid 1. I have never seen a raid 5 controller that supported more than 6 drives, but in theory you could support even more than that.
Any of those dozen bars provided he is willing to have a large RED/BLACK/BLUE letter engraved on each hand with a magnum marker and pay a slightly higher cover.
So you are one of those responsible for das-blinkenlights taking over my computer. There have always been multitaking products for IBM and compatable computers.
I want MY fully functional command line only system back.

No

Actually not Here I priced it out

I'm pretty sure most cellphones meet that criteria, or did you want to use it afterwards??
My wife has all those features although 4 seems to be a bit on the Beta side. And she believes that 2 is negative, but she's wrong.

I have a black and white tv you insensitive clod.
How about keeping the promise made to all of us that the DVD would have 16x9 and pan/scan on the same disk?? that would be a start.
So you don't want to download the internet to your computer?
Actually Raid 5 uses striped redundancy so that the parity for each stripe is on a different drive. Raid 3 has a dedicated parity drive.

ANd most raid 5 controllers have serious processor power and a substantial amount of RAM. I had a RAID 5 with more HP than the parent system.

The 8088 because it was a hybrid.... sort of the first sx processor.
8086 8000 series 16 bit bus. 8088 8000 series 8 bit bus.
386DX 32 bit... 386sx 16bit external
486DX Coprocessor added 486SX Coprocessor disabled by a pin.
oh and xx87=FPU
And of course you are both correct. It was possible to "reboot" the processor and enter real mode without rebooting the computer.
Well, sometimes you need a clue by 4 and there isn't one handy, so a Model M comes in really handy.
Somebody has to make the rules, and a wealth based oligarchy(meritocracy) is as good as any other way.
And in a capitalistic Democratic society, anyone can become one of the rich.

Actually it is
Despite the name and interface similarities, outlook is a completely different program from outlook express.
yeah, but you ought to see the size of the "bullet"
it's larger than my monitor and the gun is larger than my cube.
