    Ok, for a home user offsite can mean on the other side of the room or in a different room... and IDE raid is getting really cheap... and its fast and reliable, just don't use the IBM 123.5 drives unless you are going to replace with 123.5s... I had to offsource and rebuild the raid when I lost a drive.

    Hard drives tend to fail more frequently when not running than when running so your backup may be more likely to fail than your primary. better to do 1+1 with the +1 offsite...

    A flea market is not retail... it is Re-Sale. the "not for retail" marking can only bind the first sale, not subsequent. And it is possible that he bought the cereal.

    You know what, I've never been in a dirty Wal-Mart. I've been in Nasty Albertsons, a Putrid K-Mart, but every walmart I've visited has been clean... and considering the unpleasant people shopping there thats a plus for me.

    YOu know that if you throw out your printer packaging you MAY void the warranty since the manufacturer will usually only accept warranty returns in the original factory packaging.

    Walmart/autozone/whoever
    Oil change $10 With coupon
    10 minutes of my time
    complete systems check belts hoses etc


    You make the call... for most of us the choice is clear.

    The best tool for the job is the one you have, The BASIC that came with ~ALL computers is equivalent to the swiss army knife that all boyscouts carry or the leatherman that all geeks now carry, its there and its handy.

    You can cut down a tree or skin a buck or repair a computer you wouldn't want to use it to deforest an area but to get that tree out of the way it just works.

    Ditto for BASIC. C, etc are like a toolbox or a garage, great and make you more powerful, but expensive and not always there.

    You are lost in the forest and night is faling do you A. Build a shelter and maybe some primative tools using your handy belt tool, or B. Bemoan the fact that you left your chainsaw, lighter and petrol at home.

    NHRA is not the state, so it isn't a license regardless what they call it. An NHRA "license" doesn't allow one to drive on the street and actually, the criteria aren't that stringent, you simply have to demonstrate solo that you can point your car in a straight line and drive. Licence app

    OK, so just because you drive like a tool, I should too. If I'm cruising in the cruising lane(on a 2 lane road its the one on the same side as your steering wheel) and I see you coming behind me, I'm going to do as the law prescribes and pull to the side to let you pass on the appropriate side... also as the law prescribes. If you try to pass me on the wrong side, you may just hit me. OTOH, If I see you coming up behind me and I"m not in that lane, I will postpone passing till you are past me. If you hit me from behind, its your fault and you can pay for my medical care since you obviously can afford the car and associated fuel and insurance costs.
