Its great to know that there still are intelligente people in slashdot that ACTUALLY READ the articles COMPLETELY and not falling into the jedi-mind tricks of the conspiracy monkey-brains that control these topics. It's sad to see that slashdot has been slowly falling inot the hands of a group of people that love to give opinions without even reading the whole articles; but its refreshing that some still take the time to read the whole thing and give INTELLIGENTE POSTS.

They just forget that they are basically "one accident away" from having problems themselves. I dont want to seem cold, but its the cold hard truth; lets not forget Christopher Reeves. I dont remember him caring about paralyzed people before his accident, then lightning struck and well he became one of THEM. AND STILL I dont really think he was caring about the other people; I believe he was looking for a cure or treatment but FOR HIM and NO one else..very selfish of him; oh wait he was a Hollywood actor..that must be the problem.

I really think it is sad to see that this forum that is supposed to be filled with the ubergeeks of the net, the know it alls, the demi-gods of the cyber world is just filled with people are so ignorant and so hard-headed and so selfish that they dare be against technology, updates and upgrades that maybe one day THEY will need to use for x or y reasons.

Oh and BTW one small number...In the USA ALONE, over the age of 5, there are merely...49 million people with a kind of mental, sensorial or physical disability disability. YES you read right 49 MILLION people... I dont know but that is QUITE a market you have there...

Dont forget guys it only takes one simple split second accident...

I find it horribly frightening, that in 2004 there are still people who can actually believe that we DO NOT use all of our brain. It really is just horrifying. Btw, I suggest to the readers to go on and search on info of the very positive effects concerning learning and concentration that recent studies have shown when medications for Alzheimer are used on normal young people, quite interesting story..

  9. Re:Unless we spend more on education... on Medical Care Gets Outsourced Too · · Score: 0

Actually thank god we dont have a universal health care system... For exameple...You have a crash, you bump your head and are taken to the nearest public medical center for treatment. First thing the doctor will do is send you a CT scan or an MRI. HOWEVER, if you are in dear old jolly England, you have the same accident, you are taken to the hospital but hey..NO MRI or CT...Come back when the internal head bleeding starts making some big possibly life threatening problems in your head. Universal healthcare sounds beautiful...But in the real world in doesnt work, government doesnt have the money to do such a thing and still give a good decent service. Another example, jolly ol'England again, they have around 70million people yet, only a diagnosis for about 20,000 Alzheimer's patients (a number more realistic to a population of about 4 million people). WHY?...THe universal system...It would be too expensive to give those people the modern medication so its easier to just not diagnose them... The moment healthcare is completely run by governemnt, its the moment health care goes down the drain. The last thing we must let happen in our lives is let beaurocrats run what procedures and medicines we get and WHEN we can get it. We must stop this intervention. because MD's didnt go through years of hell to have then an idiot with quite possibly and MBA tell him how, when and where to treat this patients. Sorry if im being a bit troll-ish lol

  10. Horray For SpaceShip One!! on SpaceShipOne Captures the X Prize · · Score: 0

Congratulations to the great work! This opens up a door like never before for space exploration. I bet people like Arthur C. Clark and Ray Bradbury and the likes must be more than proud for helping keep the dream of space alive and giving these entrepeneurs and 21st century explorers the inspiration and perseverance to reach their dreams!! Yet I hope that this great achievement which in some decades will lead to everyday space-faring adventures will not make space loose "its magic". We humans tend to think something is special while we dont have it. The moment we get it, we loose interest in it. This most not happen with space exploration. And good luck to the other teams who are still testing their crafts, your achievement will be just as great as Space Ships One's!!

I dont know about you guys, but what I love from my pc is the ability to be able to change parts whenever some new card comes out, etc etc. BUT...in those MACs, that's basically impossible to do. Its like buying a laptop, what you buy is what you get and "OH WAIT, its already old hardware" with which you will be stuck for ever and if you want to upgrade, then you have to buy a completely new one; not just the parts you wish to change. And also think about this, how many of you have had your monitor died on you on only 1 or 2 years of use. Imagine buying this and then the monitor buying, small problem i would say
