It not gramatically correct, and that is why it is confusing as hell.

The reason it is not gramatically correct, is because of the the OR clause.

Lets analize in detail..First part is "When police officeres found sucpicious pakes today", this means the author is talking about a perticular incident , that took place sometime today. But then he goes on to say "in an Airport OR a train station", This does not make gramatical sence. If the author is speaking of a perticular incident, then there should be no ambiguity about where it took place. So the correct use should indeed be as the parent pointed out, in present tense.

Yes, but according to Indian govt. definition of being literate, is being able to sign your name.

    How difficult is that ?

Now if you count people who have completed highschool, it will be quite less, especially amongs the 40+ age group.

But the literacy rate ( highschool education not the name signing thing) is quite high in the current generations, and even high is the rate of people going on to complete their graduation.

But sadly these are the very people who are uninterested in elections. So it's a catch 22 problem, the illeterates vote in majority for leaders who are intersted in keeping them illeterates (so as to preserve their vote bank), and the one's who are literate , are so depressed by the policital fiasco, they don't bother about it.

Firstly theyt purposefully chose the name to rhyme with windows, hoping to cash in with average joe's familiarity with the term windows.

But seriously how many average joe's just walk to best buy and buy a copy of windows OS and install it on their PC. Let's face it, most people just use the OS their PC came installed with.

Given this fact, I fail to see how the name Lindows, was any beneficial. I mean, most people don't even know what an OS stands for, so what are the chances they go to buy Windows OS and install it on their own, and Now take a percentage of those extremely small nos. who will be fooled by the Lindows boxes sitting next to Windows boxes.

And the ones who are comfortable installing their own OS, any ways are not likely to be misled. So the name choice was unfortunate to begin with. All it did was gave them a lot of publicity (which is not a bad thing) but I really wonder how many customers really bought it think it to be windows.

The only thing is the " "(space), problem .

Most GUI applications I have used, have no problems with spaces, but with CLI, it gets tricky.

e.g. on most shells you need to escape the space with a \, e.g. This\ is\ a\ file.txt . Also for some shell or CL applications, you need to put the whole thing in quotes e.g. "like\ this" .

Further annoying is the fact that, commands which parse the inputs, often have space as a dilimeter , and even escaping with a \ and putting in quotes won't work.

e.g. find . -name "*.tar.gz" | xargs -n 1 tar -czvf , will not work if your .tar.gz file has spaces in file name. This has to be substituted with find . -name "*.tar.gz" -print0 | xargs -0 -n1 tar -zxvf

Of course on my Konsole , I can't cd to a directory with spaces, no matter what I do. But It works perfectly from a Virtual terminal. go figure
