Am I the only one, who got totally confused by this analogy ?
Why do people use complicated terms like cows, and horns and bells, to explaint simple matter of fact terms like Intellectual Property, and Copyright infringment, and Trademark Violation, is beyond me.
I swear to god, when I was reading that analogy, all my brain was think was "mmm... cows". And I don't even eat red meat.
Besides, Konqueror does an excellent job of displaying non english websites. I can't get firefox to display websites which use non-english dynamic fonts, even if I install those fonts locally.
But konqueror does a very good job with these fonts (provided they are installed locally), and what's more the anti-aliasing in Konqueror imakes fonts much cleaner and easier to read than firefox. And I have compiled firefox from source with GTK and what not.
But at work where I have to use firefox, as there is no KDE, I'll be eagerly awaiting the 0.9 build for solaris, for they have fixed these 3 bugs which have annoyed me for quite some time.
205893 - Loading lots of images makes Firefox stop repainting. 229600 - Installing 2 extensions without restarting re-launches extension-installer for previous installed extensions. For a comprehensive list see bigger-picture
Btw, for all Solaris users, Althought the download page of Firefox has a link to Solaris tarballs, they are non existant, i.e. 404.
The TOP of the line Digital SLRs, NIKON D2H and Canon 1D MK2, both have burst rates of 8 fps (frames per second) and a buffer size of about 40 JPEGs or 20 RAW Images.
Thats about 5 secs. of continuous shooting at 8 fps. for JPEG and about 2-3 Secs if RAW, Quite sufficient for all types of sports or action photography.
But they cost roughly > 4K, so you literally pay through your nose.
Currently I have the canon 10D, which is a nice general purpose Digital SLR, but hardly sufficient for Action photography.
How's the Pay and general benefits package , working for a Non Profit Organization ?
I have been working for some very PRO-PROFIT companies for more than 6 years, And even though I have earned a lot of dough, I am not very satisfied with my work.
In fact for the last 2 years, I have been in the fight club/ office space mood, . The thing is I love programming, but I have stopped getting any pleasure from my job for a long time now.
Although I do a lot of photography in my spare time, and that has been a lot of help. But JOB sucks.
I have been wondering , whether working for a more moral cause might help.
I have boycotted Linux Today, a long time ago. For every artile , you see a brief clipping , then a link.
You click on the link and it takes you to another linux Today page, with slightly more clipping (WTF)
. Only when you click the second link, do you get to see the actual article.
Two clicks to visit a External Article, No thanks.
Wehn , even the geekiest of the geeks here on/., are sometimes confused between a patent, trademark, copy right, IP, Do you belive an average Joe is in the best position to take part in the Next generation patent laws ?
there is always the Klipper , which stores multiple clipboards. So you can select the one which you want.
For URLs, Clipper has event handlers, So you can configure Klipper to automatically open the Copied URL, So no need to visit the browser window and paste. Merely highlight the URL, it will go automatically in KDE Clipboard, and Klipper will open it in a URL.
Also other option is if using either Mozilla/FireXXX or Konqueror, open a New TAB , this will give u a blank address bar , So you are free to paste your copied URL.
For Mozilla/FireXXX, there is an extension , I think called diggler, which provides a button to clear the contents of the Address Bar, So just click the diggler button before you paste.
Similarly in Mozilla/FireXXX , if you are copying Text URLs , i.e. something like http://www.slashdot.org , then you can install an extension called "Text links", which will give you a Right click Menu to Open the Highlighted Text link in a new tab or a new Window, without having to paste it in the address bar.
I agree that all this is related only to Web Browsing, but that's when I used most cut-copy pasting , when I am browsing multiple Sites.
By that same logic, if someone at the airport , picks up my luggage from the belt (hey it was in a public place, finders-keepers right ?), and then guesses the lock combination, which happens to be 12345 (space balls ?), then that shouldn't be a crime right ?
No, for a proper noun, or for a plural ending in "s", it is not necessary to add the extra "s" after the apostrophy. So Mr Burns' is infact quite correct.
Nepal has never been a part of India, ever, in the history of India's more that 3000 year old civilization.
Nepal has always been a independant kingdom and India has always respected this, unlike China which attacked Tibet another independant kingdom.
Nepal has very open border policy with India, and people on both sides of the border, don't need a visa to cross it. But of late this has been used as a gateway by islamic terrorists to enter India and causing some major concerns to Indians.
Although India respects and recognises Nepal's sovereignity , most nepali's feel that India acts as big brother and almost hate Indians. I remember a case a few years back when One very popular Indian actress who was touring Nepal, was asked "How she felt , being in Nepal ?", said, "I don't even feel I am out of India, It almost feels like Home". This caused riots in Nepal, although ment as a compliment to cultural similarities between the two countries, Nepali population, mistook this as a big brother attitude, and rioted for quite a few days.
Good, make sure next time the chef gives him a tyler durden special soup.

Much most of the papers I always submitted.
With that logic, everybody here should be supermen. ;)

Well, for the moment it looks like a blackout.
Yes, but out of the mess that is package management in Linux, emerges a true lord, All hail Gentoo
I don't get it ?
</cluelessness>
Seriously do any of the /. crowd watch soaps or reality TV ? How can you stand that ? The only TV I watch is 11pm-12 adult swim.
In any case, in next week's episode we will find out that ken brown only takes it doggy style. So is he really pregnant or just fooling everyone....
Stay tuned....<dun><dun><dun>

I don't think Clown+<Anything/> is sane.

Sorry couldn't resist.
The easygrammar link gives 404.
