does anybody else think the author, while meaning well, is underestimating the inelasticity of demand for oil a bit? i think prices will have to increase dramatically to see a real effect on fossil fuel consumption, or a reason for an alternative. case-in-point: while gas prices have risen gradually, demand for SUVs and similar gas-guzzlers has increased. and while gas prices are much higher in europe than america, people still drive fossil fuel -powered cars (albeit more fuel efficient ones on average).
I'm wondering if you've seen the movie Angus... Angus's grandfather says something very similar to him about being brave.
Angus (a chubby unpopular high school kid) denies being brave, but his grandfather tells him he is because he gets up, dusts himself off and goes back every day to the teasing and taunting. He tells him Superman isn't brave, just indestructable. Anybody could do what Superman does if they had his powers.
At the very least we should respect and root for Batman more than Superman. And Batman is way smarter, that's for damn sure.
So you guys berating sql*kitten should stop picking at the crust, and realize that at the core he's making a very salient point.

speaking of lawyers... are eula's treated like contracts, legally speaking? if so (and i'm pulling from a business law class from several years ago), illegal or unethical points of a contract are null and unenforcable by default, regardless of what you sign. i.e. - if you sign a contract to mow my lawn, and it states that if you cut down my roses, i get to kill your firstborn in a satanic ritual - well, that's just not enforcable.
too bad online legislation moves so slowly... i think i'm going to register for every spam list i can with my representatives' email addresses, and see if that gets things moving along... umm.. just kidding, secret service guy reading this over my shoulder.
yeah, but not worth it to read some flame-bait article exposing the limitations of a tv/movie series. especially when that series is star trek, and we all know about the plot loops.
heh. that sounds like a cereal.

if i worked in a place like that, with that kind of backstabbing, i'd be out looking for something else.
Dean Kamen, is that you? You ol' rascall!
they can probably just call the three people who bought one and warn them personally.

in large 22lb ice chunks into your living room. my fair lady never saw it coming...
maybe he meant to write "forgot" - as in, "i forgot to think before writing"
actually, isn't it pronounced "lee' nux"? at least, if you're mimicking linus' name in his native tongue..

hey moz devs, change the version number in the license!
not trying to nitpick, just thought maybe no one noticed.
moz rocks - and i'm not sure, but i think anyone who says otherwise may be legally retarded.
