Hoggoth, I have accidentally formatted a MacOS hard drive with NTFS but have not written anything to it. What would be the best tool to recover the data? Any open source or freeware? Thanks!
Why not share the internet connection with everyone. 100 minutes for 600 people is alot. Setup an intranet or even a wireless network. Combine the minutes and you will have close to 42 days of internet access for everyone. ((100 minutes * 600 people) / 60 minutes) / 24 hours = 41.666 days.
If you limit the internet conection to evenings, lets say to 12 hours, then you can double that to 83 days.
JOANNA
Really? I have 15 buttons on. I, uh, (shows him

Well, ok, 15 is minimum, ok?

Ok.

Now, it's up to you whether or not you want to just do the bare
minimum. Well, like Brian, for example, has 37 pieces of flair. And a
terrific smile.
How do you check if your on the Opt-in list? When signing up for any service provider, you have to check of an dagree to these LONG agreements. What if one of the questiosn forces you to opt-in? So back to my orginal question, how do we check if we are already on the opt-in list?
It's called the Pants Urination Screening SYstem (PUSSY).
Interesting..... I just sold new new detector to Homeland Security called TWAT. Testing Without Any Theries. Except HomeLand Security decided to name it a "pre-crime" dectector.
Racial profiling comes to my mind immediately with some lawsuits. Obviously it is a system that will have some sort of AI that is based on certain parameters. As a result, this can create many false positives. For example, a male caucasian is walking awkwardly (has a bad leg) with sunglass on can trigger the system. Or perhaps an afro-american male, with a black hoodie (because he is cold), in a middle/upper class neighborhood (talking a walk around his home) can trigger the system. Or perhaps an older lady (a granny), with a funny grin on her face (bad eye-sight), is struggling the open the car door with the wrong keys can be seen as she is breaking-in because of her high body temperature (frustration) and multiple keys can indicate they are tools.
Just a bad idea....Poor granny might get locked up and I like hoodies!
I just feel it in my bones this is just a really bad idea. My inital thought is that any car that has this as standard equipement, I will not buy it.....just plain and simple. If all car have this feature.... well features in car do break... if not they can always be removed.
I don't know about anyone else, but I personaly would love to see these powerpoint's and word documents. Just from personal perpective... but of course these document may prevent me from buying any ASUS products.
Honestly are we surprised with all the resources it is using? We already can expect/assume that each consecutive newer version will take additional resources. Since it is still in beta, I am going to assume it will be much more lean once it is officially released. While in beta, MS usually does not place a large emphasis on its optimization and wishes for the general public to start providing feedback on its functionality.
I had myself more then few Warp Core Breaches (complete with dry ice!).
I recall after having 4 of those Warp Core Breaches... I had my own little "warp core breach" that evening. I found out later that those drinks are made for two people.
I have dealt with old hardware and storing a notebook computer for 25 years poses two issues; CMOS battery acid and condensation. As many of use know, if you store a battery for multiple years, it will eventually leak out the acid and destroy the metal parts it came in contact. You would simply have to remove the battery from the notebook computer. I am sure you are able to buy a CMOS battery anywhere as they are used for multiple other devices including calculators and watches. Worse case senario, the computer will have an invalide system time and/or the user will have to configure the BIOS on the fly.
As far as the condensation, a simple usage triple zip lock bags should do the trip. Triple just in case the first or the second get damaged on a micro level when inserting in to the capsule.
How do we place out names on the reviewer list? I would am willing to volenteer myself to provide a decent (detailed) review unlike how this reviewer did.
I agree that this reviewer is not provided any information about the book. They appear to be biased and have read only a few pages to provide quotes from. Shame on this post making to the front page of/.
If you list in the Boston area or nearby, computer recycling is easy. If it is a old CRT monitor, call Sanitation at (617) 635-7574 and they will pick it up at the address you tell them to come by. They pick it up the same day as trash day. If you do not live in Boston, make arrangements with someone locally to drop it off at their address.
As far as computers go, as long as they have no hazardous material inside, sanitation will pick it up for free with thhe regular trash. What I do I pull the internal components from the inside, Ebay them in a large bulk auction and toss the case. Perhaps people are not aware, that if you toss out metal with the garbage, it will get recycled. Part of the dumping process is that they use large eletro-magnets to pull/extract the metals and they are recycled them.
That is another reason why I use my Discover Card on NewEgg. I shop there all the time and never saw/heard of this until this article. Best of all, my Discover Card gives me 1% cash back and I can double my cash/points with giftcards from their website. As a result, I can buy more crap on NewEgg with my points from Discover Card WITHOUT this mumbo-jumbo stuff.
Why not just use a Notebook Computer and a portable mouse? When you go home, take it with you. nothing left behind.... no fuss. Most employeers now encourge to use notebook computer due to the fact they will get those "additional" hours from you when you work from home.
I am sure that will be a few small companies that will emerge with "specialty" phones that will meet people with these needs. Perhaps it will be programmable and give us a choice which cryptos you wish to use and when. If not we can always build our own using a computer on both ends. The trick will be to make it small and cosmetically nice which make it practical to use without using a monitor; small touch screen perhaps.
I see that not only there will be an increased usage of encrypted emails but there will be a new market for encrypted phones (hand set to hand set). Where do I get one?
1. Download movies
2. Pin it on RIAA's website IP address (76.74.24.143)
3. Let the cops arrest RIAA
4. Peace and Quiet
5. Profit!
But seriously... if you can spoof using any IP address (Printer, Website, etc), then everyone can claim it was not them downloading anything and there is not sure way to prove it.

Not only Maine gets $1.41, DC get $5.55? What is up with that? Seems like someone is ripping some off. Any ideas on this?
Great!! Now we will know if they decide to cross any border illegally.

How is this news? Websites go down, for various reasons, all the time. How is this story /. worthy?
