A Hummer H-2 with 25 MPG gasoline is an accomplishment.
A Hummer H-2 with 15 MPG would be an accomplishment, 25 would be a miracle.
From what I have read, from real world driving tests, the thing gets high single digits.
Here is an example of the Service Bulletins for the beast. Note the "Needle Bearings Found Upon Oil Change"

I think a lot of sysadmins use the "testing" thing as an excuse to put off installing patches. "Well, everything works right now so I don't really want to mess with it."
At least where I work, every patch has to hit the test enviornment before they even think about moving to production. Just throwing patches at critical systems can cause a world of hurt if something goes wrong. When you are held to 99%+ uptime, a patch that takes out an application or critical function should be caught in testing before ever reaching a production enviornment. You call it lazy, we call it job security.
Having an MCSE doesn't make you a dumbass. Though framing the cert. and hanging it in your cube does
hey, I have my MCDBA, CCNA, and A+ cards pinned to my cube wall, under a paper tray, right next to my box of Spongebob Jelly-pops;)
Personally, I know quite a few. A good portion of the MCSEs that I know are quite skilled in *nix. I think it is funny how narrow minded some of the people are here on slashdot.
Taking a couple of tests because: a) they were free. b) they net you a couple more bucks an hour. c) gasp! you want to know a little more about a product that you have to work with every day.
My dad pulls a lot of stuff, he also drives a lot. He chose to compromise:
1 '90 Corsica: good milage, handles well in snow. Cost: about $1000. Good commuter.
1 '94 F-250: Seats 5, Hauls the horses for search and rescues, race car to the track, firewood for winter, furniture, plus he can take it Off Road and not have to worry about dings and scratches. Plus the 460cid engine will pull more than pretty much any SUV. About $5000 for this beast.
All paid in cash, never a monthly payment, both very reliable. He used the money saved from not buying a new SUV to get his pilot's liscense and keep up on his dirt track racer.
I don't think he was talking about lab made rubies, which CAN be easily identified. Almost indistinguishable can mean many things, in this case a simple microscope can tell the difference. The new methods of creating artifical diamonds takes special machines or in the case of the plasma method, they are just too perfect.
SCO files a infringement suit against gentoo claiming both 'Pac' and 'Man' are their intellectual property. All Unreal users must purchase a license or face prosecution under the DMCA. Licenses are availible at their website www.extortion.sco.com
Mine cannot make it through any movie that I own. My roomie and I have had 3 diff. PS2s, not a single one can play a DVD. (1 was returned because it flaked out after a month of use.)
sorry, having my worst day in probably 5 years today.
(breakup w/girl of 2 years, housemate disapears for a week and doesn't pay his share of rent, so we are getting evicted... work piled up to my ears.. 8 hours sleep since monday, can't type straight, spent my last $900 on tuition...)
but, hey at least I have enough ramen for a couple weeks and a tent if I need to camp it until I find a new place;)
Did I say anthing about Clinton..? I also didn't include Reagan or Carter...
I just don't think Bush is a good representative for the Republican party. I know Clinton had a bad background when it comes to military service. It is just bothers me that someone like Bush is leading our country. I tend to have some conservative views, I just don't seem to agree with his (mis)representation of the party. That is it.
one Q.. am I ill-informed for not including Clinton, or for the quotes... I can provide sources for all of them if you like;)
Goes AWOL from military. Nobody cares, if my employer found out I lied about my military background, I would loose my job... he does it and becomes president. Business ties to the Bin Laden family...
From his mouth:
"My [tax cut] plan is realistic because it avoids meaningless 15-year projections."
"There ought to be limits to freedom"
"Will the highways on the Internet become more few?"
"If this were a dictatorship, it'd be a heck of a lot easier...just as long as I'm the dictator..."
"There's a huge trust. I see it all the time when people come up to me and say, 'I don't want you to let me down again.'"
"It's clearly a budget. It's got a lot of numbers in it."
I quit buying music off the major labels because their pop fluff sucks. That is it. Market something worth listening to, and I will buy it. It is as simple as that. If you want my business, offer somthing that I would enjoy. Until then, I am going to continue buying music from my favorite artists, 95% of whom are independant.

you really need to get out of the trailer and put down the crackpipe, those paintchips the kid down the street sold you are really taking effect.
...And you wonder why people hate Americans?
As I recall, voice recognition still ain't quite 100% yet...
As long as it understands "control, alt, delete" and "Terminate Explorer dot exe" I will be happy.

I love my econobox. It handles really well, even in the MN winters.
I have no range in my voice, I bet this would drop me down to a ~2 note range. Thats ok though, I am a dj ;)
Yeah, that article on using man made diamonds for jewel cd cases was way off.

Monopoly, Stratego, Hungry Hungry Hippos and Twister.
Plus a single Apple with Number Munchers and Oregon Trail.
That should satisfy your needs.
actually, black duct tape works best for wiring. grey is for ducts, and red/white/blue/green look good on your '88 accord as racing stripes.
/me joking.
Windows XP firewall keeps my network safe.

It is nice to see that they finally made it.
Now, can they make it all the way around?
