    lol, why would i hate firefox, it's the first browser that actually made MS stop pissing in their users' mouths and work on IE. you should fucking LOVE firefox, cause otherwise it's possible you'd be still using IE 6 right now.

    the writing's on the wall that their share price will take a bit of a kicking in the short term? how they replace balmer is probably more important than how windows 9 fares but i doubt it will be a big issue, windows 8 has been selling worse than vista so i doubt they'll be taking too many risks with 9.

    this is the most annoying part of the AGW movement, moving to smarter sources of energy has a lot of benefits over just burning oil because "everything is probably fine". i foresee electric cars for example becoming the norm simply because there is a lot more room for improvement in the tech that will make them more efficient and powerful than fuel burners, and this is the easiest way to move forward for deniers and true believers alike.

    that's not entirely true, there's a lot more fringe stuff like the multi-language channels and the NITV indigenous channel, especially on SBS and ABC. getting a 12 hr a day kids feed on ABC 2 is pretty useful, and a couple of 24 hr news channels that actually seem OK would probably be a boon if i bothered watching that stuff. not saying it's really increased my viewing time but it does actually make tv more useful.

    it's not all society, it's a feedback loop. politicians advertise tough on crime as a benefit, voters vote based on toughness on crime so politicians advertise how tough they are on crime ad nauseam

    lies, they reduced the illusionary complexity in cata, like everyone else i just chose cookie cutter specs and "did whatever i wanted with the last 3 points". "for number crunchers" - exactly, both of them probably really enjoyed working that out for everyone else to copy. if you're only using 6 buttons you're a terrible player, even on my ret pally i'm messing around with 11 buttons i'll use at least every second fight and another 4 situationally.

    maybe you did, i quit at 60 after about 2 weeks, end game was fucking ridiculous. 9 months later i heard about a guy who'd been trying to get his hat for 3 months... and i laughed my ass off. been subbed since BC after that

    it's not about a superior input mechanism, it's about a more realistic one. playing on one of these things will cripple you compared to a mouse + keyboard or even a controller, but that's not the point. i enjoy a good keyboard/mouse shooter but i'd love to give this + oculus a go at some point, hopefully they put them in some kind of arcade type setting so i don't have to dedicate 2 metres of my game room to expensive future landfill.
