If they can't have it outside, why not line insides of their walls with sheetmetal. Or easier yet, put the sheetmetal on the inside like wallpaper. Then the terrorist will THINK they're bombarding you, when in reality they "waves" will bounce back and hit them!
Sounds like you got other problems... lower channels attenuate a LOT less than upper channels. 1.5dBmv per 100ft at chan 3 opposed to 5.6dBmv per 100ft at 750mhz (~chan 100). Call the damn company and complain.
Site quotes "He said the site may see no reason to distribute content to people who will not be voting next week." . Well, i guess all our troops are going to vote for kerry and assume george dropped out of the race,/w his web site down and all.
the article said FTTP, but the FAQ on the website list it as DSL and speeds depend on distance to the central office ( a problem you DON'T have with fiber )... this will have big problems where I live (houston) as ADSL fell through because of old equipment (1.5meg promised and 300kbps delivered)
RTFM. Hold info+guide to change the output mode. The box is made to output to component, you can switch to coax/svideo. The analog out puts are for recording to VCR while you're wathcing a show AND recording TWO other shows =) this box is great, its the best i've seen so far. Has room for improvement, but i wouldn't take that retards word for it. I can control my volume fine/w optical out... the nob for that is on the reciever. =) I gladdly pay an extra $5 a month to record in HD quality on 2 channels while watchign another... this rox.
tivo works on whatever you plug it into... it's not nearly as fast as the DVR at changing channels and last time i checked there wasn't a HD tivo available,/w the 8000HD you can record in HD quality. But yes, it should work
I'm not sure why you all don't have volume control. In houston we program the remotes to control either the tv's volume or the stereo (whichever you use) and the volume on the remote will mute as well. I use optical out, and a sony reciever.
He needs to read the manual... hold info+guide to change svideo&coax to comp output. Go into setting to change from fixed audio out to variable... personally i use optical and use the reciever to control sound. If you don't want GREY bars around your picture, go to settings and change border from LIGHT to DARK. the 8000HD is one of the best DVR's i've seen so far, once all the channels hit HD you'll never want anything lesser.
RTFM
The rca/svideo/dvi are not disbabled. HOLD the info + guide buttons down and it will switch between component and svideo/coaxial. The DVI is enabled period, he must be doing something wrong. And YES there is volume control He must have it set to "FIXED" in the settings. Grey lettering, retard has it set to "light" and not dark for the letterbox in settings. I'm going to stop now and just say
I am a cable modem installer, or TW and Charter pipeline. I will let you know that I HATE THAT BJ DISK. We do have to run it, and we do HAVE to send the information to bj for them to collect and it sends a verification hex number back. Without that number on the workorder we get charged back. NOW, mandrake? NO PROBLEM, I'm not allowed to even touch your computer now. We don't even support win95 anymore. If the disk doesn't complete we don't get paid, and it doesn't even setup the computer... it tries to dial AOL to connect sometimes when it's set to never dial! I've contacted BJ over the last 3 years to let them know how to make the software faster (it's written in xml and flash), how to avoid compat problems, they don't care. They want the demographic info, and it reports on a timed interval too. Anyone interested in helping me hack the software to bypass all this nonsense email postalbunny@hotmail.com I've got broken-ass copies that barely work... i don't want to install software on anyones computer any more than they want it there!

I can't get anthing to load... i guess the snails that they use for their web server arn't trained up to handle slashdotting yet.
