Folks, I think slashdot is broken. First we've got cowboyneal posting comments to the users, now we have 'intelligent' and '.NET' in the same post. This is rediculous. Don't make me post as Anonymous Coward!
I have selected Drupal, myself. I have looked at almost every other CMS out there, and after installing packages, switching languages, and other types of systems-mutilation that some packages require, I've found that Drupal makes my life as a web publisher much easier.
Druapl is also very configurable, even without having to write any code at all. It is all done with PHP, Apache, MySQL, which most GNU/Linux distributions seem to have already on the distribution media. Install your favorite distro, and Drupal fits in quite nicely.
Why not create an external facility, and post a link to the relevant issue. I haven't checked for whether or not something like this exists already. I kinda want to be able to print out a page, sign it, and mail it to whomever. I think it would be more effective to answer a questionaire, and then get a reminder to print-out your latest letters. I figure that that sort of automation might have some weight. Others interested, contact me off list, and we can try to organize something.
With so many (or so few?) standards, I think over time we'll have devices that speak most, some, or all of these protocols. We had the same thing with the old-style telephone modems, the 16.8 HST, and early pseudo-56Ks. What I want is more public bandwidth. Will the FCC dedicate a TV channel to the public? Will that help our wireless Internet?
I like fast meetings:
"I gots this"
"This thing sucks, and I did this -- how 'bout you?"
"Oh, I did this thing, and broke the build."
"Ah-ha, you get the chicken!"
Meetings should be over before your coffee gets cold. More time for work = more productive. People typing in meetings shouldn't be there.

You must not have actually tried MythTV, and only thought you did. I generally only have junk equipment around, bad tuner cards, and other weird crap. Every single time I install MythTV, from KnopMyth, it works like a charm -- no compiling of kernels, no wacky config changes. MythTV recommends the PVR-250, which I haven't bought yet. Still, it works using one of those El Cheapo ATI tuner cards, even if it is a little slow. And you had trouble?
You can always talk to Microsoft technical support!
In spite of the ever impending arrival of computer set-tops, I have yet to see even 10% of my coworkers with a Tivo (and I work with some pretty hardcore software developers). Personally, I find more functionality from an actual PC with MythTV, that I have seen from an actual Tivo, one of those Panasonic PVRs, or the thing Comcast has been pushing on us. How come few of these manufacturers 'get it'?
No. Science takes care of its own, in its own way. THis is what peer review is for. Watch! They will get to the bottom of the dispute, scientifically, and then we will see what is really there, and what is bogus.
Someone's got a tagline, about having a stable society when someone guns-down a schoolyard, and the laws don't change. Same kinda thing here, laws shouldn't even be involved, as their methodology will tell all -- eventually.
This has not been my experience. Last time I tried, I was awarded $200 in a work/study program -- that was it. I haven't seen this 'heavily subsidized' funding.
I started my first IT business almost 17 years ago.
Yup, I was right, you've never worked in IT before. Starting a business is vastly different than working in it: One requires skill, the other requires money.
My employees that earn peanuts for a salary make a ton of money in bonuses. Some projects bonus out over 66% of the profit of the project. One of my top employees only works about 15 hours a week and he owns his condo, car and all his assets without loans. He's not even close to 30 years old.
Sounds like bullshit to me. I was lured to several reputable and profitable businesses with similar lines, and took substandard salaries in the hopes of earning a piece of the pie. A couple months later, I'm on the street staring at the other employees scratching their heads. What's the difference between those companies and yours? You're still employed? Please...

Gee, let's hope that this makes Sony produce more quality products, with more functionality. Why are they ignoring their customers?
I have found that actually having PHPNuke installed, invites kiddies to crack my host. Good idea at the time, but not anymore.

I think they're still waiting for the results of Gravity Probe B. =_)

Now if some group can just build a warp drive, then I can get off this crazy planet. I guess I could just call someone.
"Hay, Vulan people. Get me off this crazy planet. Yes, I'll bring a copy of Linux!"

I am looking for work, are you in need of a UNIX Systems Administrator? Seriously! I could, y'know, keep at the back, and not say much.
Can it be true? Can medication be a meeting alternative?

I will personally take care of any spare nitrous oxide gas you happen to have. Please contact me via the email address attached to this account.
I keep pressing the escape button, but I can't seem to get off this crazy planet. What am I doing wrong?

Where can I sign-up to test something like this? Please, someone -- anyone -- get me off the fucked-up people on this crazy rock!
Hooray! Now lets go and get the other SPAMmers, and MAKE THEM PAY!
You, sir, are an asshole. part time job, right? I could almost afford only gas to drive to work.

Uh, I'd rather go to college than watch TV. Why is it that I can get help buying a digital TV, but can't get help with tuition?
eat a head -- Y'know, it rhymes!
No mention of teledildonics, hombuilt jet engines, or hombrewing, but still looks neat nonetheless.
