    Friend of mine has developed software that monitor's the heartbeats of infants when they come out of delivery. This software runs on an iPaq (standard, off the shelf variety). Similar features as described in the article.

    Amazing the amount of work required to get that accepted by the medical establishment.

    I would imagine his solution, because it does not require special hardware (for the PDA) would be more affordable.

    Naive? Perhaps, but not enought to think that being an MCSE means puts you in a position of authority.

    Sure, the IIS is not the most secure, but it is behind my firewall and since it keeps all my workstations up to snuff, the integrity of one box is easier to maintain.

    the Army, or any large organization with a large install base of MS boxes, does not use SUS?

    I started using it here about 6 months ago, it is the only way to go. I cannot imagine using Windows Update as an enterprise solution. One or two PCs at home sure, but SUS is free dammit.

    But I avoided Napster like the plague. I stuck to my guns and continued to use IRC.

    A buddy of mine told me about it back then, "Hey you gotta check this out! All the songs you could ever want!"

    I found out that he registered the software and created the account using his real name. Makes it easy for the RIAA and the FBI... I wonder how many other knuckleheads have done that?

    The difference there is that the MP skit did not harm or associate Spam with something that everyone hates.

    I bet the Python skit actually increased sales! But I can honestly say that receiving unsolicited email has never given me the craving for their canned meat product.

    The title of the story is "Mom meets Linux", but Lindows is built on Debian (per the article).

    I don't get it. Is debian a Linux distro or a variant of Linux? If a variant, why is it not "Mom meets Debian"?

    I just saw at Sam's Club the GC with Starfox and a memory stick for $148, Target's GC deal is $150 with a mail-in coupon for 1 free game (Zelda was one of the games).

    The gamecube is the cheapest system, games are reasonably priced, so what drives this? Is it the thrill of the hack?
