Actually, it's quite a stupid quote, as the pyramids obviously have enough structural integrity to still be standing today; they're also known to be an amazing feat of engineering (it's still not really known how they did it with the methods and tools available at the time), so the "brute force" comment falls flat, too.
I read about the rumours that Enterprise might be canceled; and i thought "Well, i have to admit that there were some weak episodes, but really, why should it be cancelled?". Well, after watching last week's ep, i *knew* it was going to be cancelled.
In short: Fuck the writers.
Fuck them, they fucking killed it. The acting was solid, the character design was solid, the special effects were solid, the fucking writers killed it to death.
FUCK 'EM! Fuckers.
It's "passengers", for frell's sake.
Also, you haven't fucking seen fucking extremes, for fucking fuck's sake. When i get extreme, you get so much Fuck on you you won't be unfucked for fucking weeks, FUCK!
in other words, you advocate driving in absolute silence, as talking to another passenger or (god forbid) the driver would have pretty much the same effect.
Well, basically you just admitted to not having put a lot of thought or reading into maintaining those Gentoo boxen you speak of. For example, the problem of missed enotices (Although I have to agree, the default way this is handled is) can be solved with 3 apps i can think of now, not the least of which is grep. All in all I love my Gentoo and find it easy to maintain; On the other hand, i don't really have enough experience to comment on its enterprise-readiness.
and i always thought i was the only one. i thought to myself "no way can slashdot not render correctly on firefox. maybe i'm different. maybe there's something wrong with me." but now that i know i'm not alone, i, too, can stand up and say it: sometimes,/. does not render correctly for me in firefox. phew. all better now.
Do what i did: get a new battery for your "ancient" mobile (my 3210 now has 1 week of battery life for the low price of ~25) and defy the sneers of your "hi-tech" peers.
Correct me if i'm wrong, but this would only work if the participating computers correctly "labeled" the packets they send as p2p packets. once this gets used to "block" p2p traffic, i'm sure the p2p programs and protocols will very quickly stop doing that.
while i have to say for the iPod that it looks really sexy and the quality of the hardware itself is said to be pretty good, i have to agree. i'll never understand why anyone would prefer an iPod over and iRiver HD or a Cowon iAUDIO.
you have no idea what you are talking about. the smart is one of the safest cars around, believe me, you're safer in there than in any SUV. also, they are FUN to drive.
Oh God. I guess I set myself up for that one, didn't I?
Yes. Way to disqualify yourself as having absolutely no clue. Lucky you clicked the "Post Anonymously" box, eh?
The guy's name was Heraklitos, for Zeus' sake. He was Greek, not Roman.

Now we're gonna get spam in the sky. *shoots self*

...what they are talking about:
"We'd also like to see inbuilt antivirus software in all operating systems -- the tested operating systems don't currently include a virus checker."
I might as well read an article on the relative merits of the Eurofighter written by a polish tractor mechanic.
They just had to go and make it qt based, did they?
