A ferret is not the same as a weasel any more than I am the same as a chimpazee.

Although, you will have to take my word that I am not in fact a specially trained super chimp named Lullu typing this from my cage.

Ferrets and Weasels are of the same family which is Mustela. As a category this family also includes Weasels, Marters and Polecats.

So they are similiar to weasels but that is not to say that weasel should be used as another term for ferrets.

Also ferrets are domesticated creatures. There are no wild ferret populations compared to weasels who are wild, widespread through britian, and eat small rodents.

Amazon has the following policy with regard to accepting reviews.

"Please be advised there is a 1,000-word maximum on reviews. The recommended length is 75 to 300 words.

Your comments should focus on the product. You must also include a valid e-mail address, but you can opt not to display your e-mail address if you do not want others to have access to it. The best reviews include not only whether you liked or disliked a product, but also why. Feel free to mention other products that you consider similar and how this product rates in comparison to them. Comments that are not specific to the product or that violate our guidelines in any way, may be removed from the Amazon.com Web site at any time, at our discretion. Please limit yourself to one comment per item.

Amazon.com is proud to provide this forum for you to air your opinions on your favorite (or not-so-favorite) products. While we appreciate your time and comments, we respectfully request that you refrain from including the following in your review:

Comments on other reviews or features visible on the page. (This information, and its position on the page, is subject to change without notice.)
Notification that our catalog has typos in it. If you'd like to tell us about a specific problem, or want some additional information on a product, please send us e-mail at community-help@amazon.com.
    Profanity, obscenities, or spiteful remarks
Time-sensitive material (e.g., promotional tours, seminars, lectures, etc.)
Single-word reviews. We want to know why you liked or disliked the product.
Comments focusing solely on the actors, directors, authors, or artists
No spoilers! Please don't reveal crucial plot elements.
Phone numbers, mail addresses, or URLs
Availability, price, or alternative ordering/shipping information
    Solicitations for helpful votes"

I think these are bing removed under no comments focused on the author (I'm sure they stretch that to publisher) and the no URL one. Most posts included a link to www.katie.com.

If the goal is to raise awareness than Amazon review is not going to provide the needed forum.

If the goal is to trash the books score then all that should be required is to submit something like the following.

"I, a person who read the book, didn't like the book itself. You would be better purchase something else. One star."

It may be untrue but Amazon is deleting the true posts.

  14. Spamers vs. Advertisers on U.S. Spam Law to Take Effect Jan. 1 · · Score: 1

White list emails certainly do help in limiting the unwanted email you recieve and are a good technological solution.

However, this dicussion is specifically about anti-spam efforts from a legal point of view. From that perspective I think attempting to make what the spammer does illegal, while justified and certainly satifying to any urge that exist to punish them,is not the most effect solution.

The problem that has been pointed out is how to identify the spammer.

The solution is not to directly seek out the spammer but rather the advertisor. There is little point to spam not attempting to sell something (even if that is just a visit to a website). Thus, the spam header might be bogus there is direction to some website or a number to purchase some product.

Therefor it should be generally easier to find the person who hired the spammer.

If you make ALL advertising by email (of any quantity or kind, for any intention) illegal along with significant and draconian pentalties then you have more of an ability to enforce it.

If both spamming and purchasing spam services are illegal then caught advertisers will roll over on there hosts - if not there jailed and fined.

End result - people are reluctent to purchase spam and it looses viability as a business model.

If some merchants get crushed - so what. If *I* want to buy someone I will seek out a store and NOT the other way around.

Even Chaplin finally made a 'talking' picture with the release in 1940 of the movie 'The Great Dictator'. Plus, Chaplin's reluctance to make a talking picture wasn't the result of some well thought out artistic stand. Rather he (along with several other actors Douglas Fairbanks and John Barrymore - yes those Barrymores) took part in a NBC produced radio broadcast. An experiment in the early days of radio decided to air not only in homes but in 55 select theaters. To say they had technical difficulties would be an understatement - it was even for the time, awful. The entire thing was ridiculed in the press and Chaplin expetially took it hard. So at least he had the excuse of 'Once Bitten, Twice Shy'. Had he not done that particular broadcase OR if it had gone well I dont see that he would have ever objected to making a talking film. So knowing the events I dont buy any Artistic Purity type of arguments. Then it was movies with sound, now it's digital photography. The medium moves on -

Does the content justify buying the book twice (which was one of the weaker in the series) or can the CD be purchased seperately if I contact the publisher?
