While its hard NOT to see it coming, I am one of probably thousands of PAYING customers that can't play the game because 'authentication' servers are overloaded.
I just forked over 100 dollars for the CE version of hl2 and am now greeted by a wonderful 'subscription pending' screen that has been sitting there for over half hour. "sorry for any inconvenience they may cause". Just another example of the paying customers getting royally screwed over.
EB has been ripping off people for quite some time. For example, recently a friend of my bought castlevania for the ps2 from one of the local eb games here, and despite the salesman pitch to sell it to him used he refused and bought it new, or so he thought. Turns out they pawned off a used copy of the game in a new box. How do they do that? It seems they lift the bottom portion of the case and stick the disc in while not having to remove that silver tag on the top portion that is suppose to indicate the game is new. When he opened the game there were scratches and fingerprints on the disc itself. I don't know if this is illegal but these kinds of underhand tactics won't gain them any sympathy from me, I hope someone takes them to court.
Could be, since the PS3 is supposed to be able to run ps2 and ps1 games it would also be able connect to the psp. The library of games sony will have with the ps3 will just be amazing.
There is a difference between a challenging game and a flawed game designed to infuriate the player. Honestly I've played MORE of the latter. Controls seem to be the biggest problem. Another reason older games were harder were because of the save system.
I recently played Contra: Shattered Soldier on the ps2 which is supposed to be an old school 'hard' game. I rather a fun experience than a game that requires me the practice in order to have fun. I have stopped playing games simply because of the stress some games create. Aren't games suppose to be a relaxing fun experience?
Here in good ole Canada, the price for cable here is around 50 bucks, and if SOCAN have their way it will probably go up even more. Instead of going forward we are going backward and soon broadband will not be accessible to everyone. Sad really.
Why do you think that? A while back weren't FreeBSD and Sourceforge hacked by vulnerabilities in SSH(Sourceforge) and the Kernel(FreeBSD)? No 'misconfigurations' there.
The first one, give it a try... after all these years I don't think I've played a game I liked so much

look at it this way. since it will feature multiplayer, the thousands of ps2 owners will be able to enjoy multiplayer free, unlike xbox live...
I believe it will be 12 levels, each level around 4 hours. That is nowhere short for an FPS...
This was in an interview, I forgot which though.
