  1. Re:I tried to buy one. on Skin Sensing Table Saw · · Score: 1

This saw is not that old, this technology was only developed 6 years ago, and has only been in production for maybe 4 1/2. Yes it costs time and money when it jams. It takes maybe an hour to reset and about $150 of parts. Significantly less than the cost of the saw and way less than the cost of a trip to the emergency room.

Insurance companies love these saws, that's why one of the shops I work in replaced both of its major production table saws with SawStop saws. They get a big break from the insurance company.

On top of that, they are really high quality saws. Very well built, powerful and accurate. And yes you could cut off a finger, because you can over-ride the sensor incase you want to cut something like metal laminate or wood with staples in it. At that point it is no more dangerous than a normal table saw and if you get hurt it is your own fault. As soon as you turn it off it resets itself and turns the sensors back on.

    I recomend them.

FireFox works fine and renders pages almost perfectly. I've used it since .5 and have only run into less and less problems the longer I use it. And when I run into a page that doesn't render correctly I just CTRL+U and it pops up the source and runs W3C's Tidy program thanks to the Html Validator extension, and it tells me right away if the are errors in the code. If so, e-mail the webmaster and ignore the site till they learn how to properly make a web page.

::Puts on Devils Advocate Hat:: OK, yes cars kill people, floods, et cetera... However if you add guns to that list you will notice that the gun is the only item on there that is a weapon. It is the only one that only serves the purpose of killing really. The others (acts of god aside) only cause death through accidents or deliberate missuse. So why don't people protest them? ;) You're comparing Apples and Oranges. Yes guns helped win the revolutionary war. However if you were to attempt the same coup against our current governmet today you would find yourself very much out gunned and out numbered. Also guns do not = safe. You are far more likely to be shot at if you are carrying a gun, because you are a bigger threat. Guns really only help if you shoot first, an offensive action. ::Takes off hat:: Otherwise, if you're not out shooting people because you disagree with them, or they are a different race or religion. Go for it, own guns! I happen to have enjoyed firing guns in the past and hope to go to a range again soon. I myself would rather not use a gun to protect myself, but I wouldn't be above resorting to it.

No, but did it do anything for us? In my opinion a newspapers job to to spread news and information. If someone copies their article and reposts it, it's helping spread the news. It's not like he's not giving them credit for it, or reselling it. If he didn't credit them, then it would looke like plagiarism which is IMO far worse than silly copyright issues.

I don't think that is what he means. I think he's saying if say the ISP has T1 bandwidth, and it allocates say 10% of that to itself for internal needs. and 90% is for customer access. If I'm their only customer why shouldn't I have access to 100% of That customer allocated bandwidth. If there are 2 of us why shouldn't I get 50% of all of that? As opposed to only getting 1% leaving 89% of the pipe totaly unused.
