That beats the snot out of my linux box at home. Very responsive kde desktop running on Dual PII 400 with 256megs of ram and an TNT2M64. quake3 run well and with the prempt patch the desktop feel as good at the win2k desktop I'm posting on. Which by the way is dual 1.6ghz athlons with 1gig of ram and a Geforce 3 Ti.
Often I am stuck with an analog signal on my cell phone in rural areas in the US. Around even smaller cities GSM service is starting to popup but if you want coverage in the middle of nowhere you still need to support analog.
I have dual p2 400 running with no processor fans that survied a lightning strike coming through the cable modem blowing up my NIC, but the machine keep on running. Once the cable company sent me anew cable modem I just pluged it in to the other interface and keep it running till I moved. In the end I had a 140 day uptime with a blown up NIC that is still in the machine.
When I was a university student some how everybody thought I was technical support. roommates, family, people off the street would call or stop me to ask me about computer problems. You don't know how often I got stopped by people thinking they lost it all because of a floppy in the drive. no computer after 96 should try to boot from floppy first without holding down a key or changing a bios options. The best was being stopped by members of the universities computer department who often ridiculed engineering students for being impractical (aka Linux using) over this problem.
Actually their have been several cases of land owners secretly taping renters in their house, even placing video cameras in the bathrooms and bedrooms. I believe in one of the cases where the landlord was making tapes of the married couple having sex it was ruled that the landlord was able to do such activeties as long as he did not try to directly profit from the tapes. I wish I could remember which state that had happend in or find links about it.
At the same game with what looks to be the samething that Phoenix is trying to do but more advanced. Compaired to this I would rather have a traditional bios. The OS functionality of EFI looks to be the perfect boot loader for for TCPA. Such as containing the bootloader in firmware and controlling the OS's drivers.
Installing key logging tools on public terminals with criminal intentions is much different than purchasing or being in possession of key logging equipment or software. This if very different than just purchasing a gun unless it is proven the gun was purchased with the direct intention of being used in a crime.
A stressed metal skin does add to the rigity of a car. The problem with the plasitic of fiberglass skins is they just sit on the frame adding weight without adding to the rigity of the car.
I have been waiting for large financial and enterprise management apps to support Postgresql, cutting the all important TCO down to just support and hardware of the database. Although GNU Enterprise GNU Enterprise may become the thing small companies or finacially strapped have been looking for

XRandR changes the virtual desktop size, hence no more ctrl-atl-[+/-] to get a 800x600 window on an1024X768 desktop
thats what XRandR does. altought you cannot change color depth yet from what I understand.
you could just prevent them from running ls. The only links in ftp are filesystem links.
