On the internet, the website defaming his name is simply more popular than he is.

Which is a problem given that people searching for his name aren't searching for some vile, childish "definition" that has nothing to do with him.

Again, if "Obama" were to be defined as something like that it wouldn't be the first thing to come up in search regardless of how well it's gamed.

And, to those of you modding me down: why not jump in here and discuss it instead of acting like I'm a troll or something?

  2. This really is a google problem on Is Santorum's "Google Problem" a Google Problem? · · Score: 0

Disclaimer - I really can't stand Santorum and I'd like to be able to vote for a Republican in the next election. But that guy actually makes Obama look good in almost every way.

That aside, I have a couple of observations:

    1. Google's search results in this case aren't correct. If I was in charge of search at Google, I would be concerned that my index was too easily gamed to return improper results. And, let's face it, when people are searching for "santorum" they're not looking for something about anal sex that really has nothing to do with him.

    2. I can't help but think that if somebody were gaming "obama" or "clinton" in such a manner Google would just sit back and say "we can't do anything".

I know this is a popular meme (Clinton was investigated because he had sex with Monica!) but the impeachment was about his conduct in a civil case where he perjured himself and suborned perjury from a subordinate. He disbarred in Arkansas as a result of that case and his ability to practice before the SCOTUS. I know the "it's just a bunch of moralists mad about blow jobs" line gets the left riled up, but it's nowhere even close to the reality of what happened.

I have as many Apple devices as the company (literally 5 or more computers, three ipods in the house, and an ipad). I like their products a lot and I love the ipad for web browsing and such. I use it daily.

I bought a Kindle Fire last Friday and I think it's great. Is it an iPad? Well, no. But it's a nice device that doesn't have to be compared to the iPad. It stands on its own and is a fine device. It actually fits in some of my pants pockets, so I like the size even if the screen's a little smaller. It plays Angry Birds and a lot of other games, it has nice built-in software (I like Silk), and I have no problem changing the volume on-screen. The batter also lasts a long time.

I feel like this comparison is similar to the comparisons made between the iPad and some low-end netbooks or notebooks when the iPad first came out. The iPad was a different device but quite useful, and now the Kindle Fire is also a slightly different device but also quite useful. It might not be what every wants, but I think it's a fine device.

First, it's a very religious state where the deity happens to be the creepy "leader" of the country and his equally creepy father. Second, ignoring that reality for a minute and assuming "secular state" really means "doesn't officially acknowledge a creator", America is technically a "secular state". They typically do not retrofit an older store. On a sunny day such as today the fluorescent lights will not be on. FWIW, Costco is doing the same thing.

By the way, they're not making it as bright as outside, nowhere close. The skylights cover maybe 1/20th of the surface of the roof and yet provide normal indoor lighting during periods of direct sunlight. See here to get an idea:
