    Though I know that IBM has sold its consumer hard drive assets to Hitachi I still have to wonder why IBM is not a member of this consortium, since IBM has a very active and large research department.
    Wester Digital is also "missing"...

    Anyone who knows more?

    Well, of course 4.3.0 is more "optimized" for Apache 2 than the previous version, but as said before it is still marked as experimental. Just look at the PHP 4.3.0 release notes.

    It's a pity though that Apache 2 support is still experimental. I hope the Apache and the PHP team get the work done fast so that Apache 2 can spread faster! :)

    Noone here said he has broken any laws (which, as far as I know, is not as clear though). But I haven't either - still my record is/will be searched and is/will be available for many people who I don't like to have my records.

    So why not make Poindexter's records available too?

    A difference I noticed: "A dynamically peeling Vorbis stream server would be able to peel the stream down smoothly" (quoted from the linked summary)
    As far as I know it isn't possible to reduce the quality of a progressive JPEG by chopping off more and more data from the file.

    Actually I wonder who this is possible at all...

    I bet they (the spammers) will find ways around whitelisting too. What stops them from automatically sending a reply to each "authentication request"? There will be some schemes for such a request, 10, 20, perhaps 100 schemes. So what - they can reprogram their robots. Character recognition gets better every day.

    So what? Useless, if you ask me. It's just the same as spam filter - delaying tactics, not more.
