Simply because the whole MySQL project can't be taken down by MS even though they're using Wix. It's not important enough for the project's life, that's it!
Rats can also be used to search for buried mines. You might want to read this interesting NYT article about it. It was featured on slashdot some months ago, IIRC.
You might want to be interested in services like Spamgourmet and Jetable. Really helpful and even more comfortable than to log into hotmail just for some registration email.
..is not as bad as its reputation. Of course it is not enough and you should not rely solely on it. But it can be a helpful part of your whole security-plan. Read more in this interesting paper by Jay Beale, the Lead Developer of the Bastille Linux Project.
Thank you everyone for your replies and hints; to sum up it may be said Openoffice is still better if used as an MS Word replacement. The thing why I am so interested in AbiWord is its low resource requirements. It is said Oo is still rather hefty with RAM usage and start-up times. Anyway, I'll try it Oo for now.
Thanks again!
While I was really successful converting my family away from MSIE to Firefox I wonder whether the migration from MS Word to AbiWord would be as problem-free either. For example my sisters used MS Word to write and format their disserations (whether this in itself is good or bad doesn't matter here; no, they won't use LaTeX). Would AbiWord be able to do all this stuff as well? Various headings, automatics index and TOC generation, various styles? I'd be very glad if you could help me with the decision whether I should start this conversion too! Thanks!
Who has the larger market research department - Microsoft or Linux?
I.e. by just following MS in many ways you are already following what people want and need.
For many of the uses the GIF file was much smaller than an equal looking PNG file, even when using tools like pngcrush.
So while PNG might be technically or whatever superior and though I appreciate PNG for many uses as well I am still glad GIF has returned to GD.
Also read this interesting article about PHP trying to take over the world. While a bit long it's really interesting and spawn quite insightful discussions.
Actually I am not saying XML rules (personally I even dislike XML;) but I don't think it's good to say "SQL works, so keep it". In my opinion, even though SQL works for most of the tasks we should continue to search for something better (which certainly exists!), not rest on our laurels.
Regards.
What's the use of this? Well, provided the correct software exists you don't need to go to your car/motorcycle dealer to get your engine chip-tuned - you just write a shell script to do this task;-)
According to the pictures on Linuxdevices.com this board is neither specially thin (why make only one row of I/Os on the backplate if the power connector and CPU cooler are thicker?) nor fanless (apart from the fact that a fan needs room above it as well!)
First off: Your original posting was simply completely off topic. Where would we be if every message pointing out a grammatical mistake in a story got moderated +5? - slashdot would look like an English schoolbook.
Secondly: Your second posting is not only off topic, but also insulting and purely flaming.

It says There are three primary factors affecting visibility but then it lists four reasons..!

Please note that the German copyright law (Urheberrecht, as it is called) is quite different from the US copyright.

Sorry, but while SQL might work - just because it works that doesn't mean it's actually very good at its job.

X.org is actively developed while XFree86 is only maintained at best because most high-profile X developers from XFree86 have changed to X.org.
