I don't think the free market, specially normal consumers, will like subscription based goods. They want to pay once and then own the thing they paid for, not pay all the time they use it. Even if you have to "buy it once again" every few years.
Why does everyone seem to think that just because she's a mother she'd love funny sweet animations or a cuddly webpage about her pets? Perhaps she's really a geek-mum but just hadn't the possibility to prove herself!
..there are the endless worlds of interesting and expectant computer games. Introduce her to one of them and she'll continue learning about the handling of a computer.
Problem is many organisations aren't allowed not to deliver email which is probably spam. So they have to deliver it, probably only tagged (with an extra X-Header or some phrase added to the subject). I.e. people still receive spam they just have the possibility to trash it easier - which stupid people, i.e. people buying things advertised in spam emails, won't do anyway.
Sucks, eh?:-/
Just like hacker doesn't (only) mean hacker anymore but (also) means cracker. So stop the moaning about it, that's how language works, as the parent explained.
Google should ask Microsoft for information it has to provide according to the antitrust settlement so that Google's own program can interoperate with Windows as good as Microsoft's!
..because even if they don't get enough paying customers they have more money again to continue developing the browser with the world's best user interface!

Think about web space providers, usually they can't really control which scripts are executed on their servers by the customers. PHP's safe mode is cute already, but this can be an additional layer of security.
..but counterfeiting/identity theft issues as well. If the RFID is readable that easily, I can just read of the wealthist customer's RFID and make one with his ID for myself. Voila, I'll have a drunken night at the club!
Be aware of the fact that it will stay a one time annnoyance if you call it once today. Therefor write down the number on a post it note, stick it to your monitor and call them now and them every day!
If you take a look at the screenshots of all the included apps you'll notice the many different sets of widgets. One uses native W32 widgets, the other one GNOME-style, the third one has own.. - this will only confuse the user and in my opinion shows a large problem free GUI software is facing today.

Review on Anandtech! (I like them for their print view:)
Ok, thank you for your clarification (though now I am confused about PCI-X and PCI Express, but I'll read the discussion about it:)
Thanks!
Why only one PIC-X slot? Will these be like AGP - just one per board or is this just in the transistion phase? - Thanks!

They told me I feel most awake while I am asleep. Cute.
I don't know about you, but I know quite well myself when I am feeling sleepy and when not. What about you?
Is this program available under an open source licence? It sounds really interesting!

Bullshit, they'd never ever get (successfully) sued. They have no obligation whatsoever to provide a pirate with updates to the pirated software.
What interface are they using? Even the fastest SCSI can't provide 3GB/s!
Here's the URL to order the Windows Security Update CD for free!
..and after applying each patch don't forget the obligatory reboot ;-)
