It's not just about "doing business" during a movie either. Nor is it just about the biiig screen and THX sound. It's the leg room. It's the cuddling with a loved one, or pet as the case may be. It's the 75 cents for popcorn and koolaid vs $8 for popcorn and ice(soda if you're lucky).
And, for some weird reason, most people at the movie theater don't like it when I bring my bong.
I've been working at a weather firm for 2 years now and I've been wondering if the theory and calculation approach is the best one. Given the computational problems mentioned above, and the structure of WMO GRIB data, wouldn't a feed forward neural network that was trained for, say, 4 years ultimately work better than the highly complex calculations(Ordinary diff eqs) that, I presume, are used in the ETA, AVN, MRF, etc.
IANAMeteorologist, and I don't really understand how the models work(hey I just work here), but this is a thought I had once while trying to figure out how to write "my own" weather model.
Well, in your very special "tests" and "Telarc-level recording studios" were the speakers over 75 feet from the amp? Are the mics over 500 feet from the mixer? Do you think that matters?
Cowboy Bebop is one of my most favorite Sci-Fi universes.
Not quite as lovey-dovey as the Star Trek commie-universe, not as apocalyptic as Mad Max. Uses the best of both plus a little BladeRunner to mesh all cultures together.
Some people are so bad at using computers, that when they read/. with moderation points using Newest First to sort comment threads, they don't realise that a comment they see farther down the page that's similar to one they've modded up earlier in the page was in fact posted earlier than the one they modded up. To cover up their ignorance, they mod the earlier posts as redundant.
Here's one such example. I was the first to bring up that LANL was using the cutesy Shuttle cases, so I brought it up early in a blantant karma whoring attempt. It back fired due to moderator error of modding me redundant, when in fact, I was first. Oh well. Anyone who sucks so bad in life as to actually have mod points gets my pity. They probably couldn't speak their mind if their life depended on it. At least I get paid to surf/.
It probably happens most often when the climate control conks out where ever the servers are stored, especially when there are many servers. Like here.
Perhaps the content owner should reconsider how they do business then.
I've thought about doing this in relation to my business. I sell anti-gravity boots, but people with mass block the effects. Mass is a definite threat to the way I do business.
Like tech support, phone #'s, and training material means it won't break, or that the company providing those things will care about your specific problem.
From the article:
The engine in Pearse's plane was considerably lighter than the Wrights' engine.
All you'd get would be people searching for "Open Source Thong," etc. ;-)
It's all good until they get a restraining order.
But that just proves how much they want to be with you.

Seems like Alexa sold Amazon a whole lotta nothing when they agreed to verify the links on AWS sites.
According to one of the posts here:
Again, I don't get how my links can be broken since Amazon is delivering the content.
I'm 18, attractive and fit, and female. I enjoy sensitive men like those found here on /.
Great!! How long before more headlines like this?

Who should control the rains?
Obviously rain belongs to the person who's mind created it. Thinking otherwise implies that you are unconscious, which is an unacceptable conclusion.
Blackfoot indians have NIC's?

Great, as in large or imense, we mean it in the pejoritive sense.
My favorite Sci-Fi has to be:
.ahhhahh
Shaft. .
He's a miracle

Why, these lego photos are more twisted than. . .Sinbad's take on marriage. He he he
And while we were killing his LEGO server he took pictures of it, and put it on his site??
And used red legos for blood, that would be cool!!

When the flash finishes loading. . .it will be time for you to leave.
Yeah, why can't y'all do something with merit and family values? What we got here is some legos engaging in a lewd, lascivious fandango.
Maybe it's kinda like that universal business adapter for IBM's websphere.

OK, Jimmy... see Jimmy's shotgun... you pay us now and we won't kill you
Actually, it's more like:
Jimmy, go get the ball clippers out of the trunk. Still don't feel like paying, huh?
