i have always got mine from the school i work at, they still have tons in the storage building left over from all the EduQuest 386's we used to have oddly enough we still have a bunch of the old Apple ][e's sittin around. if you want a model m or 2 let me know at titleseventeen@netscape.net
i picked up a gov surplus laserjet 4p for $45 with after my $30 wonder made it 6 months and died. that printer is by far the best i have ever had. and it still works perfectly to date
i read slashdot about monitors explodeing and what do i use an IBM monitor, it is only a G74 so that makes me feel a bit better, but my TP 600 is ready for another new screen (dead pixles) and i have to call IBM about the one year warranty on my TP600 battery. manufactured march 2002 and what month/year does it die? march 2003. on the plus side my old model "M" keyboard from ibm still works fine
i have a thinkpad 600, i just bought a new battery a little under a year ago. as for life it is, in my oppinion somewhat short lived. i know that there was a recall a while back on defective OEM battery. currently i want to get a 600e system board so i can support 2 batterys
an nationwide cell phone protest! Its easy when ever you see one of thease ignorant idiots in a movie theater or in public take the phone and throw it in the nearest toilet! However it would be funny to watch some loud mouth get zapped at dennys. or we could figgure out a way to play with the air waves so that we can remote-zap someone!
i have an old NEC 3x cd rom drive that works good as a standalone, it has RCA out and headfone out, it also uses the ghetto caddys, wether it plays CD-RWs, i don't know b/c i have a real cd player that incidently dosen't play cd rws
at my job, we either just wait till the summer to rebuild every machine (useing norton ghost) and just get the most current patches then, but that isan't a good decision for Microsoft's hughe security holes, so otherwise, we use novell's zen works to make program "X" run at user login. it isan't a perfect solution, but it works for us
just dump the borland software that you are useing. and go open source and then let borlands auditors come in and do a audit and then counter sue them for lost time and money (but don't listen to me, i'm no lawyer)
I always name my computers girls names like sarah, gina, etc
BSOD static electricity gertrude KABOOM! natasha the crack whore comdemened your name here my other server is a flux capictor yeah thats about as creative as i can be
i won't argue with you that almost ANY piece of software (OS or app) will have bugs, in fact i know a contributer to free bsd, they have delayed new releases just to fix some bugs, microsoft shiped windows me with many of KNOWN bugs and later told "pc world" magasine that they had no intent of releaseing a service pack for it. that is ignorant. for the most part the open source community won't release something with a know bug. (yes, i'm sure it happiened in the past), heck even I will try any new microsoft product beta or not i can get my hands on. i at least keep an open mind, but shiping with known bugs and not fixing them is not cool
how far is this war on terror going to go? i want to be safe to, but thease legnths are just nuts! I know he woulden't want to be spyed on. whats next, telescreens, like in orwell's "1984" I hope that i am dead in the ground when this happiens!
as far as i know the intel 810 graphics only has 1 meg of video ram. you might be able to get away with playing half life or mabie Unreal tournament, but quake 1 and doom are classics, and a heck of a lot of fun at that.
you maynot need an external drive. my thinkpad 600 has a easially removeable hard disk. my sugestion just buy a thinkpad and look for a spare disk on ebay or at a local computer show and just swap them out
wasen't microsoft just at the linux world convention to prove to the liunx community that they weren't against them?the only "dirty tricks" that linux pulled was being cheaper, faster, better, and more efficent.

personally, i don't have any confidence in the man, who before he became president thought that "The Talabain" was a rock band

posting something here is more than likely to get more than a few willing people to come
Microsoft may have very bright programers, but the linux community has thousands of very bright programers accross the world, you do the math.

I give it a matter of 2 months before a boycott erupts. i'll join it.
