Apple is the problem. When Google announced that 75% of office computers could use their closed Chrome laptop, nobody on slashdot said boo. When Apple adds the App store to OS X, everybody says that Apple will soon lock down all Macs.
What market would MS be targeting with Windows 7 Starter, Windows 7 Home Basic, Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Professional, and Windows 7 Ultimate? All of these are available on individual license and are intended for a home user. OS X is similar to Ultimate in that nothing is locked out.
Also, OS X does have two versions, server and client. It's just that nobody complains about being confused as to which one they should install.
Good for those of us who purchased houses close to our workplace and still have to pay for the roads you use and abuse. The money has to come from somewhere, why not the people damaging the roads? And no, the gas tax is not high enough to pay for the roads. The initial investment was not funded with the gas tax and has been mostly depreciating ever since then. It is about due to be replaced and that is going to cost a lot of money--where *should* it come from?
If they made sinks, you would be right. But in the hardware industry you usually have to have large volume to keep the price down. If they can't keep up with the other makers, then they are going to see their price rice and that is the spiral that is being talked about.

Who is in denial again?
Before Android tablets: as soon as there are Android tablets the iPad is gone.
After first Android tablets released: these are so much better, the iPad is gone.
After real sales numbers returned on Android tablets: in just a few generations the iPad is gone.
I agree that the iPad (or any other Apple product) will probably not be THE tablet in 5 or 10 years, but I doubt it will be an Android tablet that displaces it.
Just look at google news. Bank's stock market analysts have the numbers now. here is one that describes sales as "light." It is not surprising because all the reviews appear to say the product is not done (you will have to google for those yourself).
I'm surprised even Intel is interested. Nobody is interested in non-Apple tablets. RIM's playbook was a dud, the XOOM sold basically nothing, the Galaxy did okay, but only if you don't measure it against iPad sales.
Not sure where you saw anything about spraying. The FAQ says, "each hard drive is encapsulated using GRC’s proprietary hard drive sealing system." They also say SSDs can just go in, and that the grease on the CPU must be replaced with foil.
In the US, when they try to figure out if a particular food stuff is safe for consumption, they assume that you are washing it. But, they also assume that you are the maximally affected individual: a baby who eats nothing but that food stuff.
The problem is that someone is posting any AP story to the internet and national news used to be reposting that with a few edits for your local paper. Now, only the NYT, WSJ and a very few other general news sources actually write stories and go beyond what the AP does. I think NYT is doing a great thing and has the right product with which to do it.
Last I checked, to get a paid cert, you need to prove who you are using the following process: show that you have a valid credit card they can charge against (the card need not be from the organization you are claiming to be). This skips that critical step!
You have to love the/. attitude: If I don't look at this an immediately understand this, it must be really stupid.
If you want to understand it, try to this about running a government for the people. Attempt to describe the programs you would setup for dealing with foreign countries. It would be easy now to say, "I don't know what those would look like, but they certainly don't involve this..." but the idea is to think a little, not just react.
No, radon and daughter products make different nuclides than uranium daughter products. Also radon (and daughters) only last a few days.

But when you use another person's desk, you don't have to ask them what they call a pen.
When there is any Apple news there are all these Apple haters who pop up to say that Apple will make iOS the desktop OS.
Here Google is making a similar move for a computer with a keyboard that they want to use to replace desktops, and... nothing.

Hard to find such a router unless you get a WRT54GL which is basically the "hey, here is a router to flash" router.
simpler algorithms would be:
1. fire all employees
OR
1. unplug all computers from internet.
There is still the whole no physical keyboard on the iPhone thing.

degrees C is not SI, Kelvin is. It is just another "traditional unit."

I agree completely. Plus, if you are going to post more than a few links a month your going to need... to pay to get access.

Except that they both work on https now. Just throw an s in there and it keeps chugging along. In FB, you can actually tell it to do this.

Sigh... I considered that a feature.
I'm really confused. How, exactly, do you plan to plug USB devices into your XOOM, if you don't like cords?
There are ends and there are means... when apple can shim down sizes and weights, but has to change the means, all I care about is the end.

"Every product Apple came out with in at least the past 10 years was a copy of someone else's idea"
Just thinking to the last week, thunderbolt?
So... having to connect a cable to a USB device is a deal breaker for you?
