This seems silly. Thermal grease (at least the "popular" brands - I have never used the cheap stuff) cause no adverse effects to your CPU. I accidentally put globs of the shit on two of my previous CPUs (a Pentium 3 800mhz that I clocked to 900mhz, and an Athlon XP 1800 that I got to like 1753mhz, I can't remember) and it didn't do squat. I used the P3 like that for 2 years, and the XP 1800 for about 6 months.

*** As a side note, I contacted AMD tech support concerning thermal grease and got an answer just three days ago, and the support rep was the person that told me to just use a "smidgeon" (his word for "a tiny bit"). This absurd decree is coming from high up in marketing somewhere, not from the actual "know people". At least that's my guess. I would copy and paste the email, but I'm not sure how they would react, and my employer has a nice partnership with AMD, so.......

I think that it would be a good idea for you to make partnerships with Codeweavers and Transgaming. You could bundle the CodeWeaver's plugin and WineX in a one year license, perhaps call it the "Lindows Extended Media Package". You could then sell a few popular Windows based games pre-installed with the system, as well as offer Microsoft Office support. This would make your Linux distribution much more desirable.

Despite swelling support within his own ranks to "allow the KDE inspectors more time", Blair has decided that it is in his nation's best interest to support a full, all out GNOME invasion against the rogue college. Early reports from the battlefield place the GNOME armies at the steps of the MIT intelligence officials' walls just days after initial operations began. It is said that a jubilant crowd erupted from at least two dormitories from the North Eastern MIT desert.

Iraqi intelligence quickly refuted the claims on Abu Dhabi and Al Jazeera, claiming that the imperialist GNOME crusaders have been meeting swift ends well before reaching the university level. 2. "Innovation is not something that is easy to do in the kind of distributed environment that the open-source/Linux world works in."

A distributed environment of thousands of creative developers, from volunteers to huge corporate contributors like IBM and Sun can't innovate? Ballmer is confusing innovation with "buying companies that made something new and then calling it ours, and then crafting the software in a manner that insures customers continue spending money (and in greater lump sums)."

    3. "Linux itself is a clone of an operating system that is 20-plus years old."

I thought Ballmer was done using that blatant untruth. It is clear that Linux is a completely different operating system then UNIX, and is developed in a completely different way, with entirely different strengths. Ballmer is still a FUD afficianado.

    4. "The Linux world in some sense is a lot like the Unix world. There is not much communality. There is this distribution; there is that distribution. There is this user interface, there is that. Some people might see some advantages to that."

Ballmer still clearly doesn't understand the concept of the open source development model, is still not used to the concept of competition.

    5. "If you want a fix now, we may need to perform better, but you know where to go. There is nobody to turn to if you as a (Linux) customer...."

I caught wind of JVC's development about two months ago, and it had alot of corporate folk racing to beat them to the punch. There are at least two other major companies that will make press releases very soon concerning similar accomplishments, and if JVC plays their cards right, they can make alot of coin if they properly manage their patents.

Believe it or not, such specs on a camcorder, at that price, will be most highly prized by the adult film industry. Don't ask me why I know that, because frankly, I'm not allowed to tell.

JVC made a real accomplishment here, no doubt.
