Though you also need to consider the oil used by the tractor to plant/harvest the additional food needed by the cyclist as they will be expending more energy and need to eat more.

Talking is perfectly natural, much like talking to the person sitting next to you. However, holding a mobile phone next to your head meaning that you can't use that hand to drive isn't really that good idea. If you want/need to use a phone while driving get a hands free kit. There is now a specific legal offence of using a hand held mobile phone while driving in the UK, unfortunately it's a bit harder to prosecute people for than speeding, so not many get caught.

If the piece of software in question was designed to run on microsoft windows (TM) after microsoft took out the trademark, then I imagine that if it had gone to court that they would be in a pretty strong situation. The fact that he signed over the rights without getting any money indicates to me that he knew he was probably not in that strong a position. And given that microsoft can afford better lawyers than you, unless they are blatantly in the wrong (and tbh this reads to me that they had the better case) microsoft will win.

It does seem a bit of a flaw in their copy protection that you can stick the disk in a mac (doesn't say about linux) and rip it to MP3/ogg. Most file sharing networks don't tend to be platform specific so windows users can just download it from there. +1 to the list of copy protection systems that annoy legit customers and don't stop piracy.

Most of the vaccines in question are actually ones over 20 years old which the patents have expired on. Hence why these diseases are largely eradicated in developed countries. Also, while I don't entirely love the system that exists for development of new medicines you have to pay the highly skilled people who develop them.

The only way I can see nuclear power being used in a major way for Propulsion of spacecraft is if some fusion system can be built. This would have the benefit of using hydrogen/helium as fuel which while hydrogen can explode if yuo use unmanned boosters for the fuel the worst that will happen is some very expensive rain. There was some hypothetical plan called daedelus or something similar a while back.

America doesn't use backward date formats, the UK (and anyone else) which uses the dd/mm/yy format uses backward dates. The US mm/dd/yy system is just rendomly messed up.
