    Here in Russia women are considered mentally equal to men, but there is a strong pressure for women to go into "caring" professions, hence any kind of doctor, even neurosurgeon almost always = woman, and I've heard it is , or was until recently exactly opposite in the USA, too few female doctors.

    It may sound unfair to you but this is a common practice in the US. Just compare tuition fees at any state university for three groups: state residents, out-of-state students and international students. I was an international student once, and I was paying at least 3-4 times more per credit hour than my American friends.

    The article mostly talks about people in their 70s and 80s who basically took the call center job after they retired and thought they could coast of it till their death of natural causes. Those are not techy people. I feel sorry for them but I don't blame Nielsesn for not wanting to run a retirement home.

    Let's try a little thought experiment. Take RedHat Linux or Ubuntu Linux server and desktop distributions. Compare them to MS Windows. Which one is more obscure? Seems to me that support based development is sustainable and it doesn't lead to results you suggested.

    What makes you think most phones are sold to carriers? Do you think most phones are sold in the US? Because outside of the strange us market it's virtually unheard of buying a cell phone from your carrier. Normally you shop for a phone you like at an electronics store, than buy a sim-card from one of the operators and plug it in. And most developing countries already have 100% mobile penetration.

    Here, back when out country was called USSR the Party would order the same thing done to prevent rain over the Red Square during the military parades that took place on major holidays, like November 7th (Anniversary of October Revolution) or may 9th (Russian V-Day).

    I think you're confused, you idea is not really any good or original. We already have a PC, we have 100000 possible configurations of PC. People buy consoles exactly because it's not a PC. I'm quite sure that close to 100% of xbox360 owners have a PC at home. We bough the console because we want at least one thing that we don't have to struggle with our computer for. Gaming is supposed to be a fun activity, not hunting for patches, drivers and dealing with cheaters online.

    Toshiba g900, it was released with the latest bug-free firmware in Russia, so I dont have the problem people in the US were having. Resolution 800x400, full qwerty slide-out keyboard, has tons of software, development tools and totally blows the iphone away. And over here it's twice as cheap as the E90

    There are more competitive FPS players on live and psn combined that there are competitive FPS pc players. After 15 yeats of playiing with a mouse I switched to xbox360 and tthe controller is just amazing! I never thought it was possible but the xbox version of C&C3 also plays incredibly well, so wellI forgot I was not playing with a mouse.

    The GP is right, the real problem here is that the parents allowed their mentally ill daughter (clinical depression is a mental illness) to use internet. She killed hersef never actually realizing he wasn't a real boy. Real teenage boys can be cruel too, actually I think the chances are pretty good at some point she would have gotten her heart broken by a real boy she met on the internet with the same consequences.

    SCO has actual customers and plenty of support contracts from earlier installations, just last year Sberbank (the largest consumer oriented bank in Russia) chose SCO to supply software for it's entire banking system.

    Really, it depends on your style of playing. I've just started playing OB of Xbox360 and it takes me about 5 hours to clear a level. Of course I like to stop to look at textures and architecture and find secrets and not just run from start to finish. How does EP1 and Ep2 compare to an average HL2 episode, like Waterhazard or Highway 17? Valve says Ep1-3 are about the same size as a full HL game.

    I understand why he is disappointed, he is an Intellectual and being a fellow Intellectual I'm also disappointed when Independence Day or Transformers bring in several orders of magnitude more cash then classy European films that actually make you think, or when some crappy Hollywood clown makes 25 million when the Nobel prize for some amazing achievement in Physics is only 1 mil. It's just a sad thing to watch how pathetic our civilization has become, and how most people squander their potential.
