    AI is a broader term that includes Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Expert System... So even if a company uses Machine Learning, they are using an AI component.

    Most of the web applications these days are developed using frameworks/languages that are cross platform (like node.js, .net core, java..). With these frameworks and app containers, it doesn't really matter what OS or hardware is running it. Server farms will move to a more efficient way to manage their server loads. I think performance/power and performance/price will be critical in deciding who wins. You can't rule out ARM right now.

    The poll has no meaning. I have lot of doctor friends and they all hate Obamacare because of more paper work and less money. So this poll is as good as polling a bunch of Republicans.

    The question is if this problem is fixed with a power recycle? If not, The only way I can think of that this problem is in the digital logic is if the processor can save its states across power recycle. This sounds like a thermal hotspot in the processor that can cause physical damage over time.

    I think they will go with a dual-layer DVD and a single HD-DVD. Single layer HD (15GB) will give you 4 hours of HD playing time.

    It is possible to have a dual layer DVD and a single layer HD. Single layer HD (15GB) is good enough for a HD 1080i movie.

    The content and services on Internet2 is not controlled by a single corporation, but with this idea, You will have a ATTNet or SBCNet where the contents and services are only from ATT or SBC (or their partners). They are basically saying "I can provide you a high speed internet connection, but I will own and control what you can get out of it".

    I think the problem is that the parents and the society gives more importances to Sport than Academics. I see lot of parents spend their time taking their kids to football or soccer practices than taking their kids to a tution for math or science. If a kid is good a sports, he gets all the attention and if a kid is good at studies, he is bullied. In countries like India, parents and society look up to kids who are good at studies.

    When you say a lot, a lot of them are old hardwares, Sun doesn't have to port them all. It just have to port the latest hardware drivers.

    Keep in mind, when we are comparing Linux and Solaris, we are just comparing the Kernel. For a end user, he can still have a Solaris kernel and have all the standard destop/applications that comes with Fedora and won't feel any difference. All sun has to do is make sure it ports all the drivers and applications that are available on linux to Solaris and they might have a better system than Fedora.
