  1. Not going to happen on Mozilla Launches Browser Built For Developers · · Score: 0, Flamebait

Sorry Mozilla, you have poisoned the well for many developers. The whole Brendan Eich situation and your cowering to the social justice warriors makes me not only avoid your products, but actively remind people that you are a sleazy political organization first, with a browser tool far second. Google's heart isn't much better but at least they have tact in their public relations.

  7. Secure Border Before Amnesty on FWD.us: GOP Voters To Be Targeted By Data Scientists · · Score: 5, Insightful

While Republican voters might appear to be for immigration reform by the polls, their idea of reform is vastly different than what these people are proposing.

They first want a secure border... meaning no flood of new illegals, drugs, gangs, etc.

They clearly feel lied to by democrats saying the border is the most secure ever. Just look at the 50,000 children who have just crossed since January. If you can't stop children, how do you plan on stopping the "bad guys"?

Republicans would also support more work visas -- both skilled and unskilled. They don't care about having more immigrants here. They want an orderly process which no administration has been able to provide.

Obama's blanket amnesty isn't too popular but most Republicans would be up for the debate if they were confident the problem wouldn't keep compounding itself with new illegals.

Facebook has a very heavy hand at suspending accounts who don't mesh with the feminist agenda. For one, I don't think that Walmart's margins are so thin that they can't afford...

This is a case where it doesn't matter what you think. Walmart is a master of optimizing prices. Maximizing revenue is a duty to their shareholders. When they see waste, in this case on the transaction fees, they work their hardest to reduce it. That is what's happening here.

Walmart serves a different market from Costco so your bit about amex is not applicable. There was a time 10 or 15 years ago when Walmart tried to start a bank to get in on the interchange rates and government regulators killed the idea.
