    Most viruses do not need an unsecure os, just a clueless person. Of course I do not think it was
    a virus, but *if* it was a virus, then of course it would be an excuse.

    In CPU power, yes, but MacOSX can only address
    4 gig of ram (I would guess only 2 gig per prosess).

    If you want a fast cpu use an intel or AMD depending
    on what you want to do.

    If you want a fast cpu that can address much mem
    use an opteron or itanic (itanic is fast on
    number crunching).

    Well SGI is 64-bit, Apple is not (no 64-bit OS).
    SGI has many CAD programs, Apple has not.
    Apple is expensive, SGI is more expensive.
    Apple only got one mouse button, not good for cad.

    I would guess that the opteron is better then both
    the mips and the G5.

    You do not need a license to use GPL software,
    only to distribute it, the problem is not for the
    consumer, it is for the distributer that can not opt
    away their warranty and such things, i.e. you seem
    to be liable even if you give it away for free.

    Yeah, but you can not use more than
    2, 3 or 4 gig ram (per process, do
    not know much of mach/bsd/darwin, but
    I would guess the limmit is 2 gig)

    And in no way can you use 64 bit pointers.

    So what you do have is a nice 64-bit machine
    running in 32-bit mode at a speed of a budget
    athlon/p4. I myself do prefer PowerPC ISA,
    but hey, who program in assambly language
    today.

    No, but we are talking about program licenses.
    I do not think documentation licenses need to
    fullfill free software guidelines.

    Neither does the fsf, otherwise they would not
    have published the license. The GFDL has these
    "problematic" parts for a reason; resons that
    are not as valuable in software.

    Is the question "is the documentation free
    software" sane?

    I, personly think there is a difference, and
    I think the GFDL is okey for documentation,
    but NOT for software, maby we should have
    another license for music!

    Do you now get what I mean?
