My car already has one, it is called the clutch. You press that and the engine can rev all it wants without the car speeding up.

I suggest we make all cars without this much needed safety device illegal.

I never mentioned murder, only negligence or recklessness. I never mentioned being pro or anti science. You should try relaxing a little. We override peoples rights based on trends all the time, as an example I would point to every drug that is illegal. The same with euthanasia.

I am not holding up anything like a religion. I just believe if I do or do not do something that is obvious to cause harm to others I should be punished. You know being responsible for my actions and their consequences, which you only want to do when they fit your narrow worldview.

As was your analysis of Roe V Wade.

You have the right not to be to submit to medical procedures you don't agree with, you should also have the responsibility of paying for your actions. If I was a crazy person and did not take my medicine then harmed someone I would still be responsible for my actions.

Islam is young, in another 1000 years it will be as tolerant as those Christians who call women sluts for wanting birth control. You probably won't live that long so you can continue your mindless hate against the "Other". Turkey wants to join the EU, so they cannot do what you are claiming will happen.

Indonesia is also majority Islam, over 85%, and has had a female president, something many Western nations have never done.

Even among the countries you list there are huge differences. Saudi Arabia is pretty much the worst in the in bunch you list, unless we are comparing Riyadh to a cave in the mountains of Pakistan or Afghanistan. The Iranians are among the best in that list, yet compared to the west still terrible. At least they allow women to drive.

Turkey has an overwhelming Islamic majority and no such problems.

Your generalizations are pretty much worthless and borderline racist. Like most such generalizations.

Daily Show and Colbert are available free online, or were last I checked. I have no cable and I only spend $20/month with netflix plus a couple bucks here and there on Amazon. I also have prime. Including my 25/25 FIOS plan I cannot spend more than $70/month even my worst months on this stuff. I don't include internet cost when I normally look at this stuff as I would have that even if I had cable.

No, what would have a harder time surviving are narrow interest, boutique channels. Things like "The International Film Channel" and such. Even the SyFy network might tank, as people would have to ask themselves "do I really want to pay for stuff like Megacroc vs. Giantshark"?

Netflix easily replaces all of that for under $10/month. Amazon video gets even more of them. Channels are pointless in 2012. Why pay for stuff that is broadcast while you are at work? It should be ala carte for individual episodes/seasons/movies.
