2) Celcius is not fine grained enough to figure out how to dress for the weather, while Fahrenheit allows one to easily judge whether or not to wear a jacket.
ROFL. Celsius is exactly as fine grained as Fahrenheit! Good thing you decided to stay anonymous, as some future employer might read this. However, if you were to go into the comedy business...
VBS and other scripting stuff is turned off by default.
The sad thing is that it stops people from reading some Word document. Then they turn to some kind of forum to ask for help, and the next post is some helpful dude telling him how to turn all that annoying security stuff *off*...

Here's a help site dedicated to Phoenix, created by David Tenser. Announced in this thread on MozillaZine, and see also the Phoenix forums.
I've seen every release of Phoenix, and it flies. No lagging, just a bit of a wait before it's loaded. And I'm even using it on NT4.0 for heavens sake:)

They are ripping out all the mail and news functions, composer functions, and IRC functions.
There's a bit more to it then that. They are also recoding a lot of the browser interface, for speed enhancement, but also to bring new functionality. Configurable toolbars, for one. A pop-up blocking whitelist, opposed to blocking pop-ups from every site in Mozilla. An extensions manager, just click to install the extension you like (mousegestures, prefbar...no uninstall yet). It's a browser worth watching, IMHO.
Not that offtopic IMHO. Those last chapters describe pretty much how the Korean guy must have been feeling the final hours. But then again, Ender was a genius, and this dude? Well..;)
Another site that mentioned these fireballs (space.com? nytimes? don't remember) also said that some people thought it was a crashing/exploding airplane. If that is true it is a lot less arrogant to call the police. Granted, I don't know if all the calls were about airplanes, but if I ever see anything that looks like a disaster or terrorism I will call the police, and not rely on the universe to sort itself.
Yah.. Eli wasn't responsible. And likely his box wasn't hacked.. more likely, a user account was compromised.. if at all.
Maybe a machine was h4xx0red that routes traffic to the mentioned ip. Responses from the backdoor can be sniffed then. For those of you not feeling paranoid enough goto Project Honeynet and read about the challenges.
The infections generally happen before it gets pressed.
This seems to imply that cdroms can get infected after they are pressed. Do I now need to be suspicious of cd's that were clean earlier, or is "pressing" not one of the final steps in creating the physical cd?
The rocket would have to pass US airspace on the way to international space. Therefore it has to obey US airspace regulations. Anything launched that does not comply with US airspace regulations could be considered illegal.
Oh, and intending to run KaZaa from space might be frowned upon as well:)
Printscreen and ocr? That's just sad... My copy of ms reader ("Niven, Larry and Jerry Pournelle - The Gripping Hand.lit" seems to be a good book, at least up to page 38:) ) allows selecting all text, and copy to clipboard. Can't be to difficult to automate for every page...
5 miles. :-)
Only a true geek can have a fantasy of a condom being ejaculated into so hard that it achieves escape velocity.

I just hit reply to see if this was a .sig/tagline, or part of your post. Well, it is a tagline now :)

Hrmpff.. you've obviously never tried Phoenix. With the skinnable thingy. Fast as hell, period.
Shit, I've been trolled, HTH HAND...
Ha! And look what I found when I went to the next site in my daily-visit-list :)
This was also featured on space.com. Don't know if it's the same story since we seem to have slashdotted the Scotsman.
Gnome is in the kernel tar-ball now?
Stay away from booze for a while, "no drinky-drinky" :)

Sorry... couldn't resist :p
You forgot:
0. remove heatshields for reentry from vehicle
Right. Scare of aliens by offering them Britney Spears through free WiFi P2P. That'll keep us safe.
Be careful what you wish for. There might be someone out there that wants your nick to become fact :-)

I stand corrected. It did seem to be kinda obvious :)
