Then/. would be an absolute jungle of lame posts. Think about it. There are close to (if not more than) 100,000/. users out there. With an average of only 1% trying to get FP on one article, per day, on an average of 10 articles per day, that would bring the total number of FPers per article to approx. 100. Too many for my liking!
It is quite ironic, well, from a textbook point of view anyhow. I mean, take a company like Micro$oft. They make Wnidows, the not so stable for everyone OS, and they also make some great stuff, like Word. Just goes to show you that some places/people make good stuff, and bad stuff. Of course, this is all opinion.:) Cheers, Fran Frisina (franf@hhs.net) http://www.zero-productions.com/
Come on now, let's not turn this into a flame war. Try to refrain from calling people ignorant, et cetera. It accomplishes nothing.
I agree with you when you say the show was an important step in the world of CGI, considering it was done quite a while back, *but* I have seen similar "cartoons" such as Beast Wars, what were far superior to Reboot (at least the 1st and 2nd seasons).
At any rate, we all have our opinions. I just don't care for the show/story/plot very much. I think that more than anything, that is why drives me away from it; not merely the CGI.
Cheers, Fran Frisina (franf@hhs.net) http://www.zero-productions.com/
I believe that I saw at least two or three episodes from the 3rd season, but I can not be asbolutely sure. I will take you advice and check it out. I like to keep an open mind, but when I first saw the show, I was really turned off.
I think more than anything it is the CGI. I can't say I like CGI all that much, poorly done or not.
I'll check out season three. It better be good. *grins*
Caio, Fran Frisina (franf@hhs.net) http://www.zero-productions.com/
Moderators, please do not moderate this down, it is my honest feelings about this series. Thank you.
I do not wish to be cynical... but I really do not see Reboot as a "good" show.
I first saw the show on Cartoon Network a year or so back, when it was first on CTN. My first impression was: my god... more CGI. In addition to the CGI, it is _bad_ CGI. Examples of good CGI are : The up and coming Final Fantasy movie (get the trailer at http://www.rpgamer.com ) and some of the scenes from Gladiator.
Aside from the poor CGI, the show is just generally lacking. I have fialed to find a plot in any of the several episodes I have watched. All I see in that show are wandering characters, full of the sensationalism that often crowds the mass media when it comes to technology.
If you want good CGI, there is plenty of it, or, if you want good anime, just watch Gundam, Urusei Yatsura, or that wonderful show, Sailor Moon.

This is exactly the kind of crap that is going to make the internet falter. Notice I said *falter* and not totally fall. While this certianly will be stifling, I think people realize how much the internet has done for the world, and how much it will give in the future. Ethernet would be an exelent addition to the PS2. Think about it. Lets say that you want to play final fantasy 11 (which is going to be entirely online) but you don't want to pay for some outrageous phoneline-connection to the game network. Alternative? Plug in some ethernet cable, and hook it up to your LAN at home. Voila, instant connection to the game server (and many others) all with one simple cable.
It would be very wise for Sony to do this, and support connecting as I described... but of course, we all know what they are after. The buck always stops here. *sigh* Never know though. Heck, if PS2 comes with ethernet, I think it would be damn cool. I'd love to hook my playstation to my LAN at home. Fran Frisina (franf@hhs.net) http://www.zero-productions.com/money

Well, about the closed system. What exactly would be a closed sytem then? My physics teacher has my class do an experiment with a baloon, surely that is not a closed system, is it? If the earth is also among the non-closed systems, what exactly is a closed system? Or at the same time, what isn't? You see, everything is essentially exposed to everything else, so nothing is closed, and if nothing is closed, might there be a possiblity that it is closed?
Don't mind me if that was totally incomprehandable, but at times I couldn't care less about my ways of explaning things.
Okay, I see a bunch of you are belivers in evolution... and I would love to stay and argue this more, but I have to get to an AD&D con. =) Talk with you later!
Would you be implying that Evolution is taking place? If so I strongly disagree. Now, before I begin my rant, I want to say I am not arguing for creation here.
Evolution has been disproven on many levels. One very good example of this is a human eye. The infinite complexity of this organ is beyond a doubt a stumbling stone in an evolutionary biologist's work. If any of you has read "Darwin's Black Box" you would know what I am speaking about.
Any physists out there? Take a look at the second law of thermodynamics. " Entorpy in a system increases over time." it is obviously apparent that humans are very structured beings, and to hold the second law of thermodynamics sacred, we would then have to say the human race did not begin with some non-living matter which gradually, over milennia, turned into what it is today. It just does not make sense.
Another very basic scientific law states that living tissue can not spawn from non living matter. It was once very popular that when meat was left alone it turned into flys.... anyone?
Other very basic principals can be applied to my argument, and anyone who has a scientific background and is not thick can and should agree that evolution is a nice idea, but pure fiction.
Now, that I am finished ranting, would anyone like to hook me up to that 13TB drive? =)
Just think, you may have created a monster! :-)

You give Cal Tech a bad name.
As a response to the "what reason is there for there to be anything" statemet, I'd like to quote a character from Final Fantasy VI.
" Its not the net result of one's life thats important. Its the day to day concerns, the personal victories, and the celebration of life, and love! "
Makes a bit of sense....
