This distribution is a decent one. Most of my convertees ( windows users that I convinced to ditch windows ) I started them with Xandy. Its a good all around release. Unlike Linspire, its maintains a decent repository for no extra charges. Most 3rd party stuff compiles on it ok.

Its a box, you have to spend 500 dollars on top of the 200 you pay to get the OS, just to get an adequate Office Suite, Office Productivity, and Sensible Operating system addons, just to keep it safe. I run a fairly high end card on my system, when I play FPS I "realistically" get a few less frames on say Doom 3 ( not much more than 10 at worst ) , and on other games such as WarHammer 40k, I get a better frame rate than I did on my windows partition. If this is all I have to deal with is minot frame rate differences, then Ill get over it. The object isnt for me to have the most uber frame rate, but a game thats playable and enjoyable. Isnt that what the rest of us what? Or is FPS gaming still about how many Frames per second you can get?
