You're quite correct. This is not a Tablet PC. Read the review... It's a *suppository* PC:)
I think ZD's reviewer may have started something with that name...
but they do come highly recommended for those of us still not comfortable with having a Windows key. =)
Wha? I clicked the link excitedly expectant. I though you were talking about my holy grail. Does anybody know where I can get a (decent) keyboard without that bloody Windoze key? A little Tux on mine, please:)
Got to transfer a small file? email it
Transfer something bigger? Burn a CD
Or even use your LAN/WAN/WLAN, whatever.
Basically floppy disks are dead when it comes to file transfer.
What's this I hear about flashing your BIOS? Last time I did a firmware update on my iMac I dowloaded the file, ran the program, rebooted & held down the "programming" button on the side.
Quick easy and painless.
What the big problem with PC mobo makers that they can't get their head's around this?
If Dell ditch floppies then maybe they'll be forced to devise a better method.
Hmm, thanks for that... So I click on the "Restart" button and it doesn't. Apple need to rename it to something else...
Let's see, half a restart == "Start" ??? Oh f**k.
After running SW update and leaving it running overnight, I got up this morning to find the Mac telling me to restart, as expected. Clicked the restart button, then a strange thing happened, it kind of did a strange half shutdown / log-out thing and came back-up within about 30 seconds.
Now it was very early, so I wasn't too attentive, sorry if it's a little vague:) A quick look look at my uptime confirmed it didn't reboot.
Anyone else experience this? Am I going mad? The Mac seems to be running fine.
Even a complete Mac zealot like myself could not possibly argue that we have a good games platform. Don't even bother. My PS2 + Comfy chair + big TV + sounds through the HiFi, now THAT'S a good games platform.
er... I've never heard anybody from Apple call it Mac OS X (pron: Ex). They alway say "Mac OS ten". IIRC, Jobs called Jaguar "Mac OS ten, version ten point two.":)
From the website:

The average pages / day so far this month (before today) is less than 1100!
This actually confused me the first time I installed a printer on OS X. Being so used to the Windoze "Next, next, next... Finish" I plugged the HP into my Mac - nothing happened, it was just working. Apple have actually made it too simple.
Now all I need is one of those Bluetooth printers to really foncuse me:)
Toothpaste? Deodrant? This is /. for heaven's sake!
You've just got this stuff lying around the house?
*That's* why it's called sosumi? (slaps head in realisation)
Thanks!

Using iTunes3, tick the option to crossfade tracks, then set the time to 0 seconds. Works nicely for me :)

Yeah, we can all download 300,000 copies of Safari in one day, but may /. Apple over a QT update? ;)

Yeah, Moto may call it Altivec, the important thing is Apple call it "The Velocity Engine".
