What exactly does that mean? Do you mean they own the physical hardware? Are you telling me the US owns this hardware? Or do you mean they own the address space? The protocols? The TLDs?
Mad props to the US for funding the development, but that is where it ends.
Hi Tom and thanks for joining us here are idiots anonymous.
I think Bob wants to share with us too.
Bob: Hi my name is Bob and I have an open relay. I know it's bad but I kinda like seeing the lights blinking on my switch as spammers relay email through my mail server.
When people claim that someone has caused $x bazillion when hacking some site, they are generally claiming the cost of securing that site. That is money they should have been spending anyway. Saying that someone caused damage by say deleting files, performing a DOS etc is all fair game, but not the costs of actually doing what you should have done the first time.
Damn straight. I'll bet that the other major labels are watching this very closely. If EMI does well out of this we might see some other changes, both from EMI and from the other labels.
There was an smh article about this. Choice quote:
"This is better than the other theories, because it is the only theory that works," Houdin said after unveiling his hypothesis in a lavish ceremony using 3-D computer simulation.
I do when you don't have a choice about joining the union or not, which is generally what happens with unions - and they turn that same attitude back on fellow workers they do not like.
I agree, however having a workforce that is partially unionised can created problems. Eg the union uses its collective bargaining power to get a wage rise. Result: all workers, union or not, get a pa rise.
Hey there. Can you fix explorer or find someone who can? It's been broken in win98+, possibly earlier.
What explorer needs it a separation of the code to mount filesystems and the code to display them. They should run in separate processes or threads. At the moment if you drop a CD into the drive explorer become unusable until the CD is mounted. This tends to cause issues if the mounting process is impossible (badly burnt CD, disconnected network drive etc) or slow (CD, DVD, network drive over VPN). I haven't tried vista but from some of the recent stories it seems to have the same problems.
Fixing explorer would be a killer feature for me, something that would make it worth while moving to Vista. That and not allowing apps to $#%@! focus steal (also broken since win98, possibly earlier).
Actually it is likely to be Australia. Until relatively recently Uranium mining in Australia has tended to be unpopular, so there is a lot of it there.
Nice to hear that Microsoft has not fixed the single biggest flaw in windows: Explorer. Microsoft should ensure that mounting filesystems and displaying them run in separate threads/processes. Even put a badly burnt CD into a window machine? Ever accidentally clicked on a network drive that is currently inaccessible?
You may have read the books without understanding them.
Jackson kept elements of the story but changed the feel of the movie. He emphasised the frailty of the characters where Tolkien emphasised their majesty. He increased internal tension (between "the good guys") where Tolkien emphasised external pressure. We won't go into issues with specific characters.
I personally think that when adapting a film, the feel should remain the same even if the events change. A good example of this is the more recent adaption of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

I'm suggesting that running an open AP is a dumb as running an open relay.

If that were the case that would be true. The US does not "own" was ICANN controls.
That stupid window flipping thing was advertised though.
You even get the pretty countryside scrolling right past you as you go.
Your use of the word scrolling in this context disturbs me. Please step away from the keyboard sir.
circletimessquare found the shift key! Cause for celebration.
Yeah, this raises an excellent point.

Not really. I heard no comments about who looked fat in that outfit and who was going out with *that* guy.
It's a reminder that I missed my sister's birthday.

Before that was: offer a better product.
You'd never guess he is French would you.
One problem with killing explorer is you normally lose stuff in the system tray.
The CounterStrike version is:
N00B: How do I get feature X to work in this chat room?
Clued in 1: Try F10
N00B: Than......(N00B has left: user quit)
They have motorola as an example of how *not* to make a phone.
Every motorola phone I have seen:
- crashes regularly
- has a less than intuitive, slow UI

This guy DOES look for sensationalism and tension where there is none!
Surely that was a tortology. They did say he was a journalist.

There is another explanation: You haven't read the book.
Don't forget the pretzels.

This is a time when the R&B era is over and Hip-hop is on the decline.
Thanks heavens, I wasn't sure I could take much more R & B.
I used to have a rule that said if they all dance in unison or wear all white in a video clip it was a bad song. It proved surprisingly accurate.
I now have a new rule. If the phrase "your body" appears in a song, it is a bad song. That eliminates 95% of all R & B.
