    if you sell the stuff without the permission of the copyright holder or rerelease some stuff as your own then you are hurting
    i agree this should be punished as long as you make it for the costs of the act of copying itself or for free (even paying to distribute)
    you are hurting no one
    the problem is that some art converted to business
    in better times you made music for the sake of the music and maybe for fame
    books were made to be read and you had to copy them manually if you wanted to have your own copy
    maybe we will come away from business driven art again
    we decide what we want
    true artists or music starts made with casting shows
    for those with a real desire to make music there will be a new model to finance their life
    it was so in the past and will be so in the future
    if we decide against business the music world will change
    but it will not cease to exist
    there are more then enough artist makeing music for them self and i think the music would be even better and more true to the artists

    maybe you should notice that it is not an unified market in case of language
    the german speaking part is normally way before america in case of cell phones
    and i had the impression it is almoste the same with french and english speakers

    it is about spreading bullshit while doing nothing
    there are people making money with oil and cars
    the bush clan are such guys or at least bushs is supported by companies doing this
    so it is in their best interest to change nothing because they make money at the moment
    if there was change, there would be opportunity for other companys to make money
    and this means picking holes in the big moneybags
    all talk about saving the economy by doing nothing in this matter
    but did they ever think about how many jobs could be created if companys in the US could take a lead in alternative energy sources???
    but nooooo!!!!
    they try to keep the status quo and hope the needed developments (fuel shortage will come anyway, just a question of time) will come by it self and will be generous with the US
    preservation and stagnation is the sign of a falling empire!
    may it be the whole first world or just the United States

    IMHO amd users are those with the crooked chipset and the intel users had the good stuff (even linux wise)
    no offence i use amd myself but i feel that when there is a place where intel is superior it is with their chipsets

    i think diffrence is a good thing

    i think there should be a abstraction of paths and config files so you can create a binary installer that works on every distribution but where the files really go to is depending on the distribution

    this wold make it possible to log into a suse machine, start a special shell and see all config file like they would be on a debian machine at least from the location viewpoint

    if you say no it is not possible to justify war, not even against a Third Reich
    if you say yes, you will have to accept terrorism (against civilians) as living democracy to the bitter end
    not that terrorism is a new thing
    many of the big changes where brought to our world by people you could name terrorists
    and i am sure the world would look at them as terrorists if they had lost

    i can't see what internet business could be there before 1995 so i think they started with linux
    we don't know how old their linux servers where in 2002
    we don't know what quality their application was before and what was made of it after the switch
    we don't know a shit about everything
    except they had trouble with a solution running on linux
    and that they don't have any trouble with an other solution from an other provider running windows and oracle
    and that says absolute nothing
