yeah... but
mac is not american-centric it is money centric.
where i live all the public schools use mac
maybe because our teachers are/were to stupid to use pc's
or cause they look so nice:p
every bigger ( and in switzerland bigger is still quite small ) postal office sells macs.
oh.. by the way
the swiss federal court is working with staroffice
and as far as i know between OOo and staroffice is no big diffrence except the price tag
yes, we have.
it is required to get a driving licence
but don't talk about sense and cost while there are billions spend for anti terror bullshit and iraq war...
because most of this shit does not make sense
at least here in switzerland you are required to help in case of a emergency by reasonable means
if you do not help without a real reason you get a fine or i think you can even be arrested
to require phone providers to provide 911 makes sense..
it costs little and increases the safety of everyone
and if you deny this you are just a egoistic asshole!
in some ways it is very nice to the developer
but overall SAP R/3 is one big mess
you can "see" how it grew over the past 30 years
that it is a mess does not mean it is bad or something
you just can't learn something and append it to any other part of the system without some surprises
it's strongest part is that it integrates anything!!! so tight
you could even speak of "One system to rule them all"
if you just tried hard enough i am sure you would find a module to manage your toilet paper usage
i think it is less about loyalty then about gaining experience on developing for something that is not windows
linux is not there as market right now
but it is developing
and it would be very strange if there where no games developed
if linux realy takes on and they are the only a few games developers for linux right now they could make a of money because:
1. They have linux titles right now
2. They know how to develop stuff for linux
3. Profit
this is whats business about
you take a risk, if it is the right risk, you get rewarded
if you are a nice boy and develop with cross platform in mind it is not a big risk
you have to port around 60 % to 80 % of every multiplayer game anyway
because if you want success you need a linux server version
otherwise you have a serverbase that is a lot smaller
then i live in the future too
ati say those issues should be fixed with their new drivers
maybe they are lying
don't know i droped ati a year ago after i bougth a 9800 pro and had very little funny with it
the drivers where working quite well ( no lookups and stuff )
but they had horrible performance
ca 1/2 of the 5900 i bought afterwards but it was supposed to be about the same speed in windows
halo were to become a topselling title even before microsoft
every half-serious gamer i know had heard of it before microsoft
i think microsoft even hurt it very much
they made a lot of publicity
but i don't think it can be compared to the damage done by the delay of the PC and Mac version for over a year ( if i remember right) to the xbox version
i think they abused it as a marketing platform for their xbox
think about how it would have hit the much bigger PC market like a bomb
it has been a very good game with inovative ideas for its time
i was somehow dissapointed by halo2 which contained nothing realy new
it always the same when a big game company takes over a small one with inovative ideas
yes there are glaciers in Switzerland
also in Asia (Himalaya, Siberia) and Africa (Mt. Kilimanjaro)
i am from Swizerland and here you can see the glaciers melt rapidly
you can see that the old installations for tourist, which where build directly at the end of the glacier 40 years ago, are now several 100 meters away from the glaciers
but the melting of permafrost is almost as important and dangerous as the glaciers
i don't know if it helps to raise the sea level (but i assume so) but it causes an increase of landslides
now stable mountain sides can collapse just because the ice, which is holding the mountain together, melts
performance, low noise level and low power consumption
take a 2 ghz cpu overclock it to 2.5 with stock cooling
you get a cpu that rocks away everything for games with peak temperature around 50 C with the small stock cooler
true true
but what about some serverside plugin on the webserver getting google info about any new content??
maybe even a program that you can run on your client after a you made a change to your site / blog / whatever??

so it is just natural that you have more results
but there is no search engine not affected by this
what i really would like is faster updating of the results
we have about 10 computers running a excel 4.0 application on windows 3.11
yeah... but :p

i heard you can trade old computers very well down there..
i thought you could write i am ... or something
they have been thrown out of the window
google about 5000 and msn search around 1400 :p
so you are using the wrong search engine
if there is a warrant then i see no need in notifying anyone
as soon as the suspect knows about the gps it is useless
yeah... i realy appreciate that

i was talking about the xbox market before halo
and back then it was about 2 xboxes or something
the site says 2+ million halo sales till today
so even 1 million pc sales would not have been bad

you have to be able to read
so it is quite obscure
what i fear much more is that they will use their military to raise funds
