USB! wow, that is really impressive. I tried to get a PCMCIA to CF adapter with a USB to work in a SL-5500, but it didn't recognize. Maybe USB hotplugging wasn't initiated.
Anyway, this device looks real nice. I'll get one when slashdot posts the reduced prices on HSN.com.
A lot of people like to ask "WHY?" when it comes to technology. But these little gizmos, which still work amazingly, answer a different question, "Why not?" Why not play with the old stuff?
..it is incorporated without being buggy. Everybody mentions WINE but nobody mentions mplayer, which is mostly stable. I think it could be a good thing. No one says it has to be used by everyone though. Look how far Linux drvelopment has come so far.
Well, yes. I previously had a Handspring Visor phone and I wanted to upgrade. Graffiti is cool, but It will wear you screen down. Keyboards should be designed to take abuse, as opposed to a lcd screen.
I don't know how they can run wireless in their school? Must have a port in every classroom. The signal is basically line of sight.
I remember when I went to school I couldn't play a radio in a classroom unless it had a window. All the schools were too well shielded. Something about running an antenna on the roof of the schools. Some kind of repeater
I agree. How about a phone that measures reception, gives a compass pointer to the heading where the best reception is coming from. Something that enhances what a phone does, not just take it in a new, novel direction.
yes, I have a treo 90 and the keyboard is WAY better to use than graffiti. It just feels more like a computer than an organizer though. I only with the keys were changable. Something where I could move them to where I wanted or there were simple little lcds with the letters and number on them.
I bought the game, Universe, but I had trouble playing...I kept dying. Wait...I died again.
If the Universe is a product, can I endorse it? I'll do it for free. For example, my sales pitch could sound something like this
"Hello, have I got a great product for you... It's vast, mysterious, and possess the wonders of all of creation. And now, it has a search engine like Google."
If you would like to buy the universe, send me 100 dollars american to...nevermind. Who'd want to buy a used Universe anyway?
I tried to look at the universe through my web browser but all I saw was this prompt that told me I should update my web browser to the latest version in order to see the universe. So will the universe be viewable in the next point release or is it several years away.
Is it possible to look at the universe with, say, lynx? Or if that is not possible with javascript turned off?
"History has shown us that the greatest leaps forward have occurred not when you observe the universe through just one window, but when you compare the views of the universe obtained through different windows," says Ray
Thanks Ray for that endoursment of that (in)famous MS product. This is offtopic, please mod it down.
ok, I'm done laughing. But that has to be the funniest looking picture I've seen in awhile. It's like looking at someone's family album. "That's your Uncle Bort."

Can I use it to find intelligent life in my apartment complex? The neighbors are keeping me up all night with their parties...
Can I run SETI@Home over a dialup connection?
Do aliens run SETI@home, also?
Can I run it on my palm pilot?

Even telephones fail.
There are four pillars in computing to us. We are activaly pursuing one of those.
We have billion customers and only a few tens of thousands of employees to fix there problems.
We may fix most of our security problems in say, 10 to 15 years.
Some people dislike us and we are ok with that...we're still quite rich.
You can fool all of the people some of the time,etc,etc...
No one is 100 percent secure. It is impossible.
Our goal is 100 percent security, and we think we can achieve that.
One last thing, Win200 and WinXP may have security holes (we don't plan on fixing), but Win2003 will be GREAT! Well in about 10 to 15 years...

I think it is ironic to read "...things are must faster now..." and then wait 2 minutes for it to load.
You could have a long list of things on the arm, like 20 or so routine things...
1) pay bills
2) things at grocery
3) goto AA meeting
etc...
and only have to remember the order that you have to do it on that day.
"Lets see number 1,3,and five, and I did 6 yesterday."
And if you forgot what arm your list was on, you could put on a tattoo on the other arm saying,
"Look at other arm."
It would go something like this.
First write in your design...ok
(I draw a dragon or something and then press whatever button)
now tattooing....done
Look at tattoo and see that it says,
"1) pick up kids
2) pay bills
3) apt. with proctologist"
oh, no!
First of it looks like a painless procedure from the photograph.
Can I search for p0rn in the universe?
Yes, but it may affect your karma, depending on who you listen to.

I virtually built a tetrabyte virtual observatory, but something good was on tv.
"Dr. Quinn Medicine woman...Is there anything she can't do?"-Homer
Yes, but do they have a review of nethack or moria or any other rogue-like?
...
Does this mean that Nethack nor nogue was ever ported to the Gameboy?
Ok, this is actually pretty cool, but why is the doorway to credibility guarded by IBM?
And 5000(?) users requiring registration?
is that sarcastic?
don't panic
Don't Panic
Remeber you are "Harmless"
well, actually "Mostly Harmless"
and whoever decided to air this must be using the Infinite Probabilty Drive
