Depends on what you classify as relevant, really. If I want to know about parameters that I can use with the 'update' command with CVS, I don't want the switches specific to all the other commands too - they're irrelevant to me. With an indexed help system, I could avoid all the extra crud; with man, I can't.
And unfortunately, all the irrelevant info as well. Reading through a lot of manpage is truly soul-destroying, and it's hardly a surprise that they're not too popular with newbies. Try man cvs or man gcc if you don't believe me.
Hmm. Methinks Wikipedia should provide a mechanism to obtain a reference to the *current revision* of a page. It's possible to do that with old revisions of the page but doesn't seem possible with the current revision. That way you could simply reference the revision of the page you saw when you did your research and not worry about it changing.
I think it might be worth pointing out that the Samsung ML-1710 is, in fact, a *monochrome* laserjet printer. Yes, you can get quality *monochrome* lasers for cheap, that's pretty common knowledge now; but for some people, the ability to print colour is included in the description 'quality'. You're still talking $700-$800 for the very cheapest colour laserjets, so laserjets aren't an option for some people (including me!)
I had an Epson with a similar limitation, I think; I simply used to remove and replace the empty colour cartridges when they got empty. The printer would detect that a cartridge had been replaced, but not the actual ink level of the cartridge. Have you tried that?
I did indeed see that. However it would seem more sensible for you simply not to EVER charge a fee to the first x thousand members, rather than promising a fee sometime in the future; the mere words 'membership fee' are probably stopping a few people from joining.
Seems to me your party would be a lot more successful if you, at least in the beginning, didn't charge a membership fee. Why not just offer a quick online signup... almost like joining a forum? People probably won't be that willing to pay actual money to join a party of 11 members that has little prospect of eveb getting on the voting slip. That's how the big parties almost certainly started - like-minded groups of people getting together, but *not* charging each other money to congregate!
Do you happen to know whether Google has the facility to search for a literal string yet? Can I search Google for websites containing *exactly* "#Chatterz.Heaven"? Or will it always ignore the hash and fullstop, and be case-insensetive? I e-mailed Google about this and they told me there wasn't a way to do a literal search yet.
Ah, that would explain why Citibank have the most sub-pitiful customer service then? As in, new accounts phoneline - never get a response. Regular customer services phoneline - Indian that I can barely understand because of their fucking accent.
But i'm not talking about users, I'm talking about *me*. And what I object to is people telling me that I must run as a user on my own machine. No thanks. It's especially bad on IRC; some servers are able to detect that you're running as root, and actually prevent you from connecting if you're trying to IRC as root! That's lame, IMHO.
In windows terms, its bad because the person can Read, Write, Edit, and Delete any file on your computer. I think this is bad.
Oh really? I had no idea running as Administrator automatically gave anybody the ability to control my filesystem;-)
Im sure there are other problems with the service, but my understanding is that it is much better than rooting all the time, especially if you use a software firewall and have DSL or cable. (Spammers)
Eh? I'm pretty sure my software firewall makes me a lot *more* secure. Without it, I would be a lot more worried about my internet security.
I suggest you download the Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer and see just how vulnerable you have been running your machine.
Well, it came up with a few atrocities such as '1 security updates are out-of-date.', 'Internet Explorer zones do not have secure settings for some users.' (I use Mozilla) and 'Macro security is set to medium, which will allow you to choose whether or not to run potentially unsafe macros.'... that's reported as a problem?
I think I'll pass on bending over backwards to run everything as a user.
Hmnm, you say that, but I've never quite understood this mentality. In Windows, you really need to run as an Administrator (or 'root') to do *anything* useful. So, I always run as an Administrator. And you know what? My box doesn't get hacked or crash. Why is running as root necessarily *such* a security problem again?
Frankly I'm glad we're going to mars. If things keep up the way they have I'll open the first off world affiliate station of the Old Curmudgeon Network.
Will I be able to pick that up in McDonald's and Starbucks?
Damn!!! Gates has been aging a lot recently.

one single page shows up, gives all relavent info

The article alleges that current search services like Google manage to access less than 1% of the web
Surely that should be 10%, given the 90% statistic mentioned later on?

But this place with an enforced Preview button...
(grumble)
Not if yer logged out, it won't.

Why not go after some big, international price-fixing cartels. Like OPEC?
Babelfish kinda sucks, so try PROMT's translation instead.
Don't know it went anywhere?
"We're not in the double digits yet for upselling people to the full suite, but we are making progress," he said.
Seems they have some work to do...
Peruse the training film (wmd only)
;-)
What does the training of voters have to do with weapons of mass destruction?

Alas, I find even my dad, as solicitor, using the 'write you' phrase these days. Methinks it'll become as ubiquitous as 'OK' pretty soon.

Oh dear, what were you up to then? NaughtyGirlsOfChristmasIsland.cx?
Yeah? Well I've become an expert at Street Fighter Alpha 3 in $0 of games... but I use Final Burn Alpha...
