My daughter is learning Spanish from watching that Dora the Explorer cartoon.
From a social standpoint, I'm not sure if I like the idea(This is America, the language here is English). I think I'm getting over this old style thinking a bit, becasue from an educational standpoint, I see her learning 2 languages. It's cool hearing her ask for the same thing in English and Spanish.
Ever wonder what Geeks did before computers were invented?
I think about the guys who were blacksmiths back then. In a way they were hackers. Turning lumps of metal into things like swords and wheels. Thinking about it, you realize that it wasn't just brute force that made those things happen, you had to be smart. And you had to keep at it until you got it right. Sounds like a geek to me.
And in your spare time, you could dring wine and tell tales of elves and dwarves travelling around having wild adventures.
So yeah, if I was living in medeival times, I'd want to be a blacksmith. Or maybe a carpenter.
Sorry if the mention of the Metro Card or my employee ID didn't make sense in my post.
My view is that this tool is being marketed as a way for people to clean out their wallets. I was simply trying to say that whatever it is that's in my wallet isn't cluttered enough to necesitate a $200 purchase.
I'm having a hard enough time trying to justify the purchase of a Palm or Pocket PC which doen much more work for not much more $$..... In comparison this credit card toy seems like a total waste of cash.
I got lost in Iselin, New Jersey once. You could think of Iselin as the Mumbai of the state.
Freakin smell of Curry EVERYWHERE. And the smell stuck with me...kind of like that Seinfeld episode. Except that it went away after about 2 days.
For those from the area, I ended up in Iselin because I was trying to get to Princeton from Northern NJ. The Turnpike was hosed, as was Route 1. So I ended up there, trying to find 22 without a map......
I't pretty likely, I think, that we'll find evidence of this somewhere in our Solar System. In fact I've been sure of it ever since the news about the Mars Rock in 94.
Or is simple life, something more like plants? I wouldn't be suprised if something like this was found on Mars or even Europa. Why not?
Some say that plants are sentient in their own way. They feel pain, react badly when plants around them die, etc. They don't seem so simple, yet when they're discovered, the religious folk are going to explain it away and religion will survive.
BUT, what happens when we find little rotini worms running around under mars' ice cap? What's gonna happen then? Will religion survive? Probably.
But what happens if 1200 years from now we find little furry animals running around on the 4th planet of Vega?
Or if we find something like intelligent rocks on Venus?
I think that religion will find a way to survive no matter what gets thrown at it... And if by some unlikely chance we find people someplace, the religious folk will STILL say it's God's plan. And religion will survive.
Not that I like religionj or anything myself, but for some reason it seems to survive change pretty well.
The guy keeps talking about Red Hat like they're the only player.
You have to wonder if M$FT is really worried about Red Hat in particular. Maybe they see a small company about ready to experience some serious growth?
Another point on this. In the case where I want to make a mix CD for the car I find that it's usually easier to rip mp3's back to CD (because the files are 'right there' on the computer than it is to find the CD and do a bit for bit copy.
And I still don't really notice the sound difference. The way I see it, this is the equivalent of how we all used to make 2nd or 3rd generation copies of records back in the 80's. Or tape blocks of songs off the radio. (I still have a lot of these tapes (TDK SA/90's) and have been slowly converting them to.mp3.
The sound may not be as good, but just as long as the song itself can still be hard and that song stirs some kind of emotion, then who cares if the quality isn't as good.

>>And another thing: isn't he just Mick Jagger with an American accent
I've always thought the same thing.
Mick Jagger and Keith Richards are known as the Glimmer Twins.
Stephen Tyler and Joe Perry are known as the Toxic Twins.
IMHO, they're almost interchangable. I can't think of one without thinking of the other.
Though I have to admit that I think Mick is a better showman that Stephen. Seems to have more class too.

>>Next year: "Role Playing Dice Combinatorics" and "Galaxy-Class Starship Design and Trivia"
:)
How about a series of expert taught classes in Light Saber design?

Here is the original universal card.
wbs.
I don't know about other folks, but I've got 3 credit cards, a NYC Metro Card(transit fares), an Employee IS and a drivers license in my wallet.
I wouldn't call that a stack and it's manageable. Never even though of this as being a problem before reading the article.
If someone were to use this gadget, they'd have the 'stack' of cards, AND the gadget to worry about. Right?
Sounds like a waste to me.... Nothing to see here, move along please.

You don't need to prove a link. Your story says enough.
I'll say a prayer for your wife tonight.
Peace,

If you post to usenet you should try googing your email address, or sig, or whatever on groups.google.com.
It's ALL there. Every freakin post back to the early 80's. Scary. Yet kind of cool.

Sometimes on my landline I'll get out of an unwanted call by calling my pager with my cellphone.
;)
Other guy: blah blah blah
BEEP BEEP BEEP
Me: "Who's paging me? Shoot. Hey listen it's my job calling. I've gotta go, it's probably a production support call."
Other guy: "Oh OK. Call me back."
Me: "Sure thing"

What about the smell of Jizz? As much as I like producing it, I'm not crazy about the smell.
Joining the 150 Mile High Club would be fun, but the aftersmell wouldn't be.

So what happened to Tatooine?
wbs.
Nice painting.
I never noticed this before, but Vader looks to be holding a sword. Not a Lightsaber, but a good old fashioned metal sword.
Cool.

I would have modded him +1 informative.
Troll mod is certainly abuse.
Good thing I learned COBOL and JCL before I moved on to C++ and Java. :)

Yeah, and all Neo would have to do to kick his ass is to overflow a buffer. Strcpy anyone?

Poor or rich, he's still white trash. Always has been, always will be.
You can take the trash out of the trailer park, but you can never take the trailer park out of the trash.
