Ok, whatever. My question was, do they need to do it in the shower? If it's so boring, why not do it in the bed room or living room in front of the TV?
I totally agree with your point, though I want to correct you on your last sentence.
The market would be several orders of magnitude more fragmented without Android.
An order of magnitude means about 10 times. Two orders means about 100 times. Wikipedia lists about 30 phone manufacturers using Android. So without Android, there would be an addition of at most, 30 different phone OSs. That's just one order of magnitude.
I don't quite know what definition of 'server' you're using, but if we take the generic definition that includes print servers, media servers, NAS etc., then ARM servers are actually quite prolific nowadays.
Why Kinect for Windows? Why not Kinect for PC? If, as the summary says, Microsoft has chosen a hardware-only business model, then there's no reason they should tie it to a single OS.
Direct Democracy : where everyone votes on every decision is impractical
Correction:... where everyone votes on every decision was impractical. With today's technology, why wouldn't it be possible to let every citizen vote on every decision?
OTOH, I wouldn't advocate this style of governance, for the very simple reason that people are stupid.
Actually yes. It does simplify matters because DOS is basically -inert- when no program is running (save for a clock tick handler), meaning nothing at all to interfere with a BIOS updater.
Actually no - not always, anyway. My recently purchased motherboard allowed BIOS updates directly in BIOS, reading the updated firmware file off an external USB drive.
The reason it's call a phone is this: I have a phone. This is it (I point to my Samsung Galaxy S II). You say this is not a phone? Then I don't have a phone...? But I have a phone number. People call me on this number and I answer on this (again I point to my Samsung Galaxy S II). I also make phone calls with it. So this is a phone. Of course, it's more than phone. Let's just call it a smartphone.
Since most people don't keep silica gel packets around (I won't judge you based the contents of your kitchen cabinet), it's worth pointing out that the same result is possible with rice.
Cooked or uncooked? I'm guessing uncooked, but you never know.
Even if Bill Gates cashes all of his stocks and put all the money in the bank, and then just sit on his butt and does nothing, he would make more money from the interest in a day than I would make in a year, or maybe even 10 years. So yes, I would say he has a lot of income, and would probably continue to have income until the day he dies.
Speaking about IR, the one thing I miss from the iPAQ I had 10 years ago is the ability to use the IR transceiver to control just about everything - TV, VCR, satellite TV decoder, air-conditioning etc. It's ironic that there's something that a 10-year old PDA can do that a modern Android smartphone can't.
Interesting that you analogized tweeting with saying something out loud. I'm pretty sure if someone were to record things random people say in a public place and then publishes the recordings, there would be legal repercussions.
Why? It seems to me, if the only thing the thief wants is a cell phone, it would be easier to just snatch one of the hands of someone off the street or in the subway and run. Fact is, most people don't protect their phones as tightly as their wallets.
Aren't the carriers subsidising the phones they sell? I thought they make money mostly from the contracts. So it seems to me they would have an incentive to reduce phone thefts since this would mean would have to spend less on the subsidies.
If Obama knew all the heads of state, and they in turn knew all people in their states, then there would be 2 degrees of separation. That's not the case though.
It depends how you define "acquaintance". Does you knowing someone counts, even if they don't know you personally? I think a realistic definition is "someone who you can get to relay information for you". For example, I can go meet my elected representative and ask him to pass a message to the Prime Minister, who can then relay that message to Obama. So in that respect, my degree of separation to Obama is only 2.
I think he just lost a bunch of bribes with that blog.
FTFY.

Speak for yourself. I don't wipe my arse.
Since my wife doesn't have hairy legs and never needs to shave her legs, I'm curious - do women need to shave their legs in the shower?

Linux Mint is up to 12 now.
I'm genuinely curious - why not just use pure isopropanol? Why add the distilled water?
So what you're saying is that dentists are expert Windows users?
Actually yes. It does simplify matters because DOS is basically -inert- when no program is running (save for a clock tick handler), meaning nothing at all to interfere with a BIOS updater.

Where I live practically all banks have "no mobile phone" signs, usually posted on the entrance door.

A CD-ROM can hold a lot of data. You can fit the texts of multiple sets of encyclopedias on it, and still have space for more.

You're comparing convicted criminals with unborn babies?

Huh? I installed Truecrypt on my Ubuntu box easily enough from a PPA.

So what? Even if the founders are the same, they're still separate legal entities.
My wife and I co-owns a house. We also have three kids. By your logic, our house = our kids.
