    You have misunderstood what they mean by 100% efficiency. They have 100% efficiency only in converting electricity directly to hydrogen.

    They do NOT claim to have 100% efficiency doing any of the following:

    1. Converting sunlight to electricity.

    2. Recovering the breaking energy to electricity.

    3. Transfering the electricity from the brakes to the electricity (this would require a superconductor.

    4. Converting hydrogen back to electricity. -------------

    Of these, the most important steps is #1. Near 100% efficiency there would pretty much solve our power issues.

    All in all, Solar-voltaic still sucks as a way to get energy. Solar-Thermal continues to be FAR superior for any large scale, non-mobile use.

    You really did NOT read the article.

    Please note the article says:

    "The Jane Doe plaintiffs contend that the postings about them became etched into the first page of search engine results on their names"

    While the article does not come right out and state that it contains their names, anyone with a 3rd grade reading ability can infer that yes, the website did infact display their names.

    I would agree with you that the article is not written well. But it does in fact have all the neccessary information to confirm that a libel statement was made.

    Read the article carefully. Note this line:

    The thread included messages such as, "I think I will sodomize her. Repeatedly" and a reply claiming "she has herpes." The second woman, Jane Doe II, was similarly attacked beginning in January 2007.

    Claiming someone has herpes is libel. The "similarly" attacked stuff was a lot worse.

    I also am aware of the situation from previous articles about the problem.

    If you carefully read the entire article you will see that there are additional libelous claims that were made.

    The reason the article does NOT discuss it further is that they are trying to avoid pulling a "Fox News" where instead of lieing about a person you say "X news agency has reported that person A is in favor of killing all doctors that have committed Abortions".

    They are studiously trying to protect the woman that have quite frankly had enough slander published about them and do not need the slanderous statements repeated.

    I doubt it. Contrary to what content producers claim, people that are forced to give up free content do NOT suddenly decide to start spending cash. Instead they find other free content, some of it legal.

    Considering the success of things like porntube, this is not that hard to do.

    1. If you have food by the computer you will snack. Make a simple rule that no eating while typing. P.S. Your keyboard will thank you.

    2. Try getting half a sandwich plus some vegetables for lunch instead of a full sandwich. Note what I said half a sandwhich plus vegetables. The following are NOT vegetables: cheese. Chicken/shrimp/other meat. Dressing. You get a salad with cheese, chicken and french dressing and that is a full meal by itself, not something you can eat with a sandwich. I personally have found that I do NOT miss the other half of the sandwich. As long as I get half a sandwich, I feel full.

    3. To lose weight you need an extended light exercise, not short duration heavy stuff. I.E. Aerobic not cardio. Forget about weight training, push ups, sit ups, etc. Try instead:

    Jogging/running

    rollerblading

    Dancing. Yes, DDR does count, but only if...

    You need to do these things for a long period of time. A total of 7 hours per week.

    Note, do not try walking or bicycling unless you are physically unable to do something stronger. There are lots of overweight people that walk or bicycle, but you never see an overweight serious jogger, runner, or rollerblader. Overweight dancers are sometimes possible but rare.

    Another Option is to get the parents UNINVOLVED.

    Specifically, take kids from the really bad neighborhoods, with troublesome home lifes (i.e. parents keep changing jobs and moving, parents have drug/alcohol/abuse issues) and put them into Public Boarding Schools

    Currently, the price for a NYC education is around $14k/year. The price for a cheap boarding school is around $26k/year. Yes, it costs more, but their are schools where kids are more likely to end up in jail than to graduate, and it costs $100k/year to keep them in jail.

    I say it's worth it.

    The really funny part is I don't own a Wii. I have played one and enjoyed it, but honestly, not enough to buy one.

    But every 3 months or so, some obnoxious article appears saying "The Wii is dead".

    Then 3 months after that, new sales figures come out and another article appears saying "Wii outselling everyone else."

    Note I did not say the Wii is better, I just get tired of people bad-mouthing it, claiming it is not a video game system, or not being used or a thousand other things they say about it.

    There is a STRONG culture for puzzle games.

    Just look at the Wii.

    But there are also is a strong culture of arrogant shooter gamers that think "If it doesn't have bleeding edge graphics and a ton of violence, then I don't call it a video game. No, I don't care that the Wii is outselling my personal favorite brand of gaming device. They must be sitting unused in closets. Stop telling me statistics. I'll cover my ears LA LA LA LA LA leave me alone and let me play my shoot-em up game and look down on all other gamers."

    If you clicked through to the website, they showed an Iphone operating underwater. They claimed it worked for hours till electrolysis destroyed the leads between the battery and the rest of the Iphone, so they had to replace the leads. Then it worked again.

    No. The $1000 price was a moronic statement. The company quotes a price of $50-$70 to treat a cellphone sized object, but it must be done in a vacuum. I am betting that the $1000 price was some combination of X pints plus the cost to apply.

    1. There is no price of $1000. The website quoted a price of $50 to $70 for a cell phone.

    2. The website shows an iPhone operating underwater. TO me, this clearly means it somehow prevents shorts. They did state how after operating underwater for several hours, the electricity had destroyed certain leads to the battery via electrolysis.

    3. They specificaly stated the coating could be applied to touch senstive devices, including screens.

    4. They specifically called it clear. I am not positive it is the best thing for a lens, but it looked reasonable.

    You miss the point of the article entirely.

    The service we are discussign helps people that have to do the CALLING but don't want to speak live. It is not something that the people that recieve the call do.

    In other words, it pretty much seems like you are the TARGET MARKET for this product, you just didn't think it through.

    Congratulations, you just compared the retail cost of electricity to the retail cost of gasoline. Retail prices are set by demand, and WOW, you discovered that the demand for electrical energy is pretty close to the demand for automative fuel energy. So Brand X is priced in line with Brand Y.

    Which proves nothing.

    And more importantly, it already effectively INCLUDES the conversion efficiencies of both gas and electricity, as it is the retail price, which is based on final use, not creation.

    If you were talking about creation costs, that would be a different story.

    Most importantly, there are areas in the US where electiricty costs as little as 6.24 cents instead of 10, and other places where it costs as much as 14.31 cents.

    But most importantly, all those numbers are based on getting the electiricity at peak times (noon). Smart utilities offer discounts to those that buy from midnight to 6 AM, which would be the most intelligent time to charge your vehicle.

    There is something called selective enforcement that you are ignoring.

    Step 1 .Create a law that everyone violates. Example: traffic speed limits. In most areas of the country, 99% of the time, people are exceeding the speed limits. Particularly in 55 MPH zones.

    Step 2. Arrest and charge just the people you dislike. For example, when it comes to traffic tickets, women are about three times like to get a warning than a man is. Particularly hot, 20 year old women. Surprise surprise, you get wierd statistics.

    Step 3. Have some shmuck say "Then don't speed."

    Our president admits to drug use when he was younger. HEAVY drug use, not light stuff. In 1972, arrested for cocaine possession.

    George W Bush is just as guilty as a LOT of people currently in jail. THAT is society's fault.

    Now, I am not saying that the proper fix is to let all the criminals out. What I am saying is that it is not as clear-cut as you would like it to be.

    Honestly, I think this country would be a LOT better off if buying, using and selling pot was legallized and everyone, black or white that was arrested for cocaine use was sent to prison for at least one year. At the very least, Bush would not have gotten elected president.

    WARNING: Spoiler alert. Stop reading if you don't want to know stuff. I really enjoyed this film. The dialogue and acting was phenomanal. But the plotting was incredibally stupid. It gets an A++ for dialogue and acting, but an F for plot. It was in line with the campy tv shot villain plot. Luckily the dialogue and acting wereso good that it made one of the best movies despite the Plot. I will mention the two gigantic things I felt were so incredibally stupid, they had to be mentioned. 1. In real life, someone would have shot the Joker. I mean, really. At least show someone shoot him and have him survive by wearing a bullet proof vest. Are the cops freakin pansies? 2. It is just possible that, in a hurray, they MIGHT not fill the ferries to the limit with people, including the lower hold where the bombs are. They even might not even look in the hold of the civilians boat. But to stand there and say that a ferry being used to pick up a boat load of criminals would not be thoroughly checked, ESPECIALLY the hold, is just plain incredibally stupid. Note, I am willing to let the joker get away with placing his lovely bombs all over the hospital with no one noticing. I am willing to let no one notice whenever the Joker sneaks his agents in as 'officials'. But a boat being used to pick up criminals? No. Not even pansy cops would do that. Not even if the joker snuck his men on board. Too many people would check that hold WAY too many times.

    Speed is distance traveled divided by time.

    They have your position in three dimensions.

    Distance between two points in two dimensions = [ (X1-x2)^2 + (Y1-y2)^2 ] ^ 0.5

    Distance between two points in three dimensions = [ (X1-x2)^2 + (Y1-y2)^2 + (Z1-z2)^2 ] 0.5 It would take rather IMMENSE stupidity to forget to add th (Z1-z2)^2 into the formula.

    If what you say is in fact true, every one that did the programming should be fired for incomepetence.

    I can imagine one company making that kind of moronic error. There is no way I can see multiple companies making that same mistake.

    Particularly as the tech started out as military and such a bit of stupidity could cause the missile to miss.

    The basic problem with tath idea is encapsulated by the phrase "Throwing money into space."

    The money does NOT go into space. A rather small amount of metal and some organic matter goes into space.

    THE MONEY STAYS ON EARTH. It provides JOBS.

    During the Great Depression in the USA, they spent massive amounts of cash on 'beautification' programs that paid for art. This one done in part to employ the people.

    If you are against poverty, you should be infavor of space program. It is a worthwhile program that EMPLOYESS people.

    Completely Wrong. ALL GPS devices calculate your position in three dimensions. The military uses them to fly missiles. They could not do this if they were as poorly designed as you think. While it is true that the LCD DISPLAY only show your horizontal position, the machine knows your exact location in all three dimensions (plus time) and uses those numbers calculate your speed etc. You need to realize the difference between what the machine knows and what it tells you. It almost always knows a LOT more than it shows.

    This CAPTCHA has text from six emails. Five are randomly selected from those sent by people that have opened an email account in the past month. One is from an email account that is a honeypot. "Please select all emails that that are spam." Note, the obvious secondary benefit is that it is used as a spam detector. Then of course there is the simple rule: "Our free email accounts can not be used to send more than 20 emails per day. If you need more, please sign up for our deluxe account, that charges you $1 per year. of service"
