    FYI: Texas has no zoning laws. Houston has strip bars next to elementary schools.

    Texas has no state-wide zoning laws. Most cities have local laws, though not Houston.

    [ considering you're an average english speaking person who is unaware that other languages, except perhaps spanish, exist, at all. ]

    So which language should I have learned, and when? My HS offered French, German and Spanish - while there are lots of people within shouting distance of me who speak other languages, only one of them speaks one of those 3.

    On Macs, early IE was better than Netscape, though this may well have been because users had a choice of browsers.

    Same with Mini Coopers (which are owned by BMW) - plus demand is so high that your chances of finding anything on the lot, much less something close to what you want, is pretty low.

    They have online order tracking - once they actually get to your car, it takes only a week or so to build.

    Much of the social status of being rich (vs. poor) comes from the blow-through-the-dough-and-don't-have-to-care (vs. sweating every penny) lifestyle & attitude. Though the almost-poor are more likely to do impulse buys (and charge it), while the almost-rich pay more attention to price.

    I'm in CA, which chose Gore pretty overwhelmingly. Say I'd voted for Gore. The only result would be that the popular vote was slightly more in favor of Gore than it already was. But the outcome would've been the same. Now, had I lived in FL, or any other place where the race was close, it might've made a difference. Most states aren't close, though.

    half agree - I'm incredibly annoyed at Linux missing bits and pieces, and requiring me to build them (because there are no Itanium binaries), but then not having them set up properly so the build fails, and then not having a compiler compatible with the Linux version so I can't even *do* the build... ... but then I go back to my Sun or AIX, or my OS X at home, where all the pieces work even after upgrades, and I'm happy.

    I have a PC at work because my company loves Siebel and Outlook. That (and IE) are all I ever run on it.
