What I always find entertaining is how Nintendo abused everything during their topdays....Kind of makes Microsoft not look so bad...But then, maybe not. The Nintendo and SNES actually kicked ass.
Theres modchips that just let you play imported games. I don't think there is really much interest in hacking the GC, it died off pretty quick. And the price tag of the Panasonic GC is just outrageous, and that is what will be hacked first. It plays regular DVD's, but costs about $400 if I remember right.
I paid $108 with tax in Seattle for NES + Mario 1 + Duck hunt. Funny how I remember that exactly.
If your paying $50 for any GC game your getting ripped. Blockbuster had brand new prime titles for $20 not long back.
Microsoft seems to be competing more with PS2 then with Gamecube. I think if they drop the price, Sony and MS should follow suite.
Plus, you get more bang for your buck with PS2 and XBOX then with a GC.
Not trying to knock GC for all those getting up in arms, it just doesn't have any features. I'm talking like PS2 innate DVD player + huge selection of games + online, compared to Xbox's hardware and capabilities + Xbox live.
I do like my Gamecube somewhat, so don't get your panties in a bunch, I'm not knocking it./shrug
Excluding things I shouldn't be downloading, I've downloaded I've downloaded copies of all my DVD/VHS/PC game collection. Why? While moving I had all of my collection in boxes in the basement, which got flooded.
That takes up ALOT of bandwidth, but thank god for DIVX and XVID.
I don't have comcast but I regularly do 20-40 gigs a month on my DSL. A couple years back when I was on tech support I was told I was the bigest broadband user in my area with the same connection class. I've never had a problem with how much I download or been told anything, and I used MSN/Qwest DSL. The devil can be good sometimes.
Thats all you pay? I pay $50 a month, excluding the phoneline, for 640k/256k dsl. To get comparable cable modem 1meg/200k it would cost me $60 excluding modem rental which if $5 a month if I chose. It would only be $50 a month if I had cable TV for $37.50 a month.
I got DSL when it was very first available in my area, about 4 years ago. I was paying the exact same price for 256k/256k. When Qwest bought out whatever phone company I was using before they upped my speed and charged me an extra $7 for just my phone line. So tell me, where is it getting faster and cheaper?
Also before Cableone bought out AT&T cable here, for same price it was uncapped.
Perhaps I'm just bitter.
Wolfenstein, Unreal and Ghost Recon are ALL awesome. Very, awesome. I don't play sports games, and don't care about XSN so I can't comment on those.
Might have a PC equal, but not everyone has a PC, or can't play it on their couch. Plus you ever try to play with friends on a single PC? Much easier to switch off. Oh and Voice communication is awesome most of the time.
It also takes about a minute from turning it on until I'm in a game.
Wow, another idiot. Boycot them, I'm sure it won't hurt them, and they won't care.
ID hates MS? You do know Doom 3 will be on Xbox? I guess you'll have to boycott ID also.
Unreal ports on consoles haven't done well. Unreal Championship(UT2k3) on Xbox is doing pretty well I believe. Always alot of people on Xbox Live playing it, although I've been on a Wolfenstein kick lately.
And your going to be boycotting a game that could be good because it's owned by Microsoft? Or does it make you more popular to say that?
Did they say they won't allow them to publish games for Linux? Can't fault them for trying to make their Xbox look better to people, can you?
Good move on their part in my opinion. Unreal Championship is great on Xbox Live, I'm sure any sequels will be also.
What's wrong with creating awesome engines? They lead to great games.
UT is still one of my all time favorite games, along with Tactical Ops mod.(I just played Tact Ops for last two hours at work~)
I don't know why people didn't like UT2k3, I thought it rocked. True, it wasn't anything mind blowing or new. Still a good game to play.
Yes, they did learn. Do you know Steel Battalion sold out, and FAST? Do you know to get it now you will pay more then $200? And there is going to be a sequel on Xbox live this year?
I hope it comes with the controller, I plan on getting it. Mech game where you can actually fall when you turn too fast? A big ass controller? I'm in.
Wow, I pay for my medical insurance no problem. I also make $14 an hour.
Funny that my parents don't have medical insurance and are poor. Yet my mom had $60K surgery done on her knee(Replacement, she has rheumatoid arthritis) yet medicaire paid for everything. Also, there are tons of free clinics you can goto for minor things, if you don't mind waiting a couple hours. My father gets all his heart medication there, free. He just has to wait a bit.
Granted, when I went to the hospital, sat waiting for an hour and a half and saw the doctor for literally 45 seconds my insurance was billed $1200. Another $800 by the doctor for 'examination' which included,
"Does it hurt?"
"Somewhat"
"Well your nose is definately broken, I'll have to refer you"
and.50 for a asprin...oh wait what was I getting at here?
Doom 3, Deus Ex 2, and Jedi Academy are all coming out for Xbox. HL2 is also Ibelieve.
Don't forget Knight of the Old Republic is a couple months old on Xbox.;)
I thought Kingdom Hearts was an awesome game, except for the flying crap. I almost beat it, and probably would have, if they took out the gummy ship thing. That was damn annoying. But other then that I really liked it.
I've heard so much that Oni sucked, I loved it though. I played it on PS2 at my brothers house with no memory card, had to play it constantly to beat it. Then I got it on PC and played all the way through.
It's like that in hospitals too. It's kind of scary. I had a friend take me to one once, and while taking my blood pressure the readings were fubar. She kept thinking I was on meth or something, and made me keep promising I wasn't on drugs. When my friends phone rang in his pocket she had himturn it off. Guess what? My pressure read normal. Scarey huh?
I think you listed every single game for the gamecube.
For the record PN03 isn't even released, and got really shitty previews.
And I don't think Viewtiful Joe is out in the US yet either.
Off the top of my head Phantasy Star Online is kind of a waste to get on gamecube. Have to buy an adapter I believe, and it's the same as the DC, PS2, and Xbox versions.
Crystal Chronicles isn't even out in the US yet either.
Sonic Adventure DX didn't get very good reviews either. I believe it was also just a DC port.
I'm not even going to argue some of the other games, mainly just personal opinion.
You did miss the only reason I own a gamecube though, Eternal Darkness, freaking awesome game. I don't regret buying a GC just for that game.
This is true if the story is well done with good cinematics. No matter how good the cut scenes are, the game has to be very good. But then the games I play the most don't even have cutscenes. (Unreal Tournament, Tactical ops, and Wolfenstein on Xbox Live - although single player has cutscenes)
Alot of the really good games with nice twists, make your jaw drop with very well done cut scenes. Did you play Knights of the Old Republic on Xbox? Perhaps my favorite game ever, Great game, on one cutscene when you find out about the old dark lord, my jaw literally dropped. Trying not to let spoilers out, but after that I couldn't set the game down for what was left. So I guess I really have no point.
Or by girlfriend he means, "Homeless man I pass by on my way to the Trek convention" ?
Easy. Use a Payphone, Cellphone, Workphone, phone of a person you hate, Phone of an X, ETC

Xbox Live is the only one of the three that has a pretty decent list of games. And a ton more coming out.
Not yet, look up "True Fantasy Online" or something along those lines. It actually looks and sounds pretty damn cool.

How much you need, and will you provide pictures for entertainment purposes?
