If it happens, it won't be used as a day-to-day currency.....the transaction times are too slow, and the volume is too limited for that. Instead, it will be used the way gold was a century ago......mostly kept track of on ledgers in a bank, used for large transactions between currencies.
The only way that will happen is if there is massive inflation and no one trusts fiat currency anymore. Somehow we made it through the 70s and 80s without that happening, so it seems unlikely.
I have to wonder, with this and all the one-sided bans and anti-right policies, if we really are at the start of a civil war.
No. Most people don't care enough. If it's a civil war, it'll be like Clive Bundy's takeover of a hut in the wilderness, or the whiskey rebellion, or or some protests that went violent.
A more realistic response would be some kind of Tea Party-style political action, except instead of worrying about taxes, thy will be worried about guns. Then the law will change without war.
This is probably going to have the opposite effect of what the idiots at Google believe
Yeah, it will make people look for alternatives to Youtube. Not many at first (I don't think many people look at gun assembly videos), but if they keep banning videos, more and more people will look for alternatives.
They've all gone to Instagram. Facebook is for memes and political crap. Instagram is for personal shares. Yeah I know that's not much better, but the crowd has gone there.
I'm willing to bet a significant percentage of the #deleteFacebook population have kept their Instagram accounts.:)
You can read the studies done (for example, with vaccines and autism) and then estimate the probability that those scientists actually lied in their papers (or got the control group mixed up or something). You can always ask "How do we know?" And the answer is there for you. Complain that it's hard or takes effort, but don't lie to yourself that it can't be verified.
The original people who wrote the search engine mostly left. The people who replaced them didn't understand it, so they rewrote it. Then those people left too. The main reason Google is alive is because they are able to funnel cash into their advertising business like there's no tomorrow
The main problem with Google is that they have ridiculous turnover. Most people stay there for a year. When that happens, it's hard to have any continuity. Actually Google has done a remarkable job at it but to my view they are losing direction. If you don't agree that's fine, maybe I'm wrong.
OTA updates have a good side, but the bad side becomes too tempting. We've already seen them hacked. That is a problem that doesn't need to exist in cars.
A lot of people just look at their retirement account, which in the US is tied to the stock market. They saw, "Trump got the stock market up, and all he had to do was get elected." Whether it was actually Trump's fault or not, no one cares. But that attitude is going to spread if the stock market stays up.
As for me, if he doesn't start a war, then he's not the worst president this century.
You showed you don't even understand the problem by citing the wrong data. Kodak was plenty profitable and increasing in profit every year until the digital camera was created.
Yeah, if you were running Google, it would be dying also. Why? Because you are only thinking in terms of profits. That is how a company rots from the inside.
Worth mentioning that even the Soviet Union didn't claim to be communist. That was their true goal, but they were aware they hadn't achieved it yet. Ultimately they couldn't find a leader with enough vision to take them all the way (if that is even possible) and they gave up on the project.
Google is a dying company. They started dying when they started caring about other things more than technology. They can sit there drinking that sweet advertising revenue stream for a long time caring about whatever they want, but eventually it will catch up to them.
Well no, you are completely wrong on that point. It is used every day as a medium of exchange. It wasn't created to replace the dollar, it was created to replace egold.
Once there is enough exchange volume (converting to and from bitcoin) that it's hard for any single investor to manipulate the market. If that ever happens.

True she comes out of nowhere on the video, but that's a really crappy video.
The video released was released in a way to make Uber look as good as possible.
It is astounding that LIDAR failed to see that person.
Maybe instead of building their own LIDAR they should have just purchased the technology from Google. :)

If Trump had run as a Democrat, people would have accepted him, just like they accepted Hillary. Most of the rage you see is blind partisan stupidity.
If they are lucky the Uzbekistan side will begin to fill anyway. To me, it's amazing how fast life revives once it's been given a space to live.
Not going to happen. The Los Angeles water board is too powerful and they oppose it. The problem is not the money, it's the people.

Yeah, do you use soap? :)

A better advertising network. Is also like to point out that the quality of their search results seems to be dropping.

Indeed, but people get sick from natural fertilizer. Glyphosate decomposes before it reaches the consumer, so people don't get sick from that.

Hard to see how Bitcoin achieves 2).

it has soured in the fickle imagination of the world's population.
I don't know what population you are hanging around, but now I've started seeing bitcoin billboards pop up. The hype is just beginning.
Good point, it did turn out to be an effective diversion tactic.
