I agree with you on several counts, but I am guessing you have never played the original Half-Life. Don't get confused by the hype, just because it was really popular doesn't mean that it wasn't a innovative and influential game.
Saying that Half-Life doesn't have the staying power of FF7 is silly, considering it's massive influence on the FPS genre, especially if you consider its mods (Counter-Strike being the obvious example).
In fact, I seem to get the urge to replay the entire game every year or so, and it still seems just as good as the first time.
More factual???
The first article I read has this gem,
"Fact: Sauron once nearly exterminated life as we know it. He drank a glass of fried ketchup and farted."
And for cabbage:"Cabbage gloats over the skulls of its defeated enemies."
Easier to read? Probably. Funnier? If this sort of this makes you laugh, I wasn't amused.
More factual? I seriously hope you were kidding, this is more of a spoof of Wikipedia.
Probably not, since there is a lot of high quality open source programmers, but a high budget game doesn't just need programmers, it needs artists, sound effect designers, etc. etc.
And those types of people aren't, in general, in the whole open source movement...
But Canada is actually very densely populated in a few areas, and very empty in most of the landmass.
I wish I had the numbers, but a huge percentage of the Canadian population is in the belt connecting Toronto-Ottawa-Montreal-Quebec City and more.
Actually, v3 is NOT the default filesystem of Gentoo, Gentoo has no default filesystem, you pick what you want. They give the easy option of ext2/3 xfs and reiser
Hmmmm.... in combination with FireSomething, how about some sort of global machine learning, i.e. for everyone who uses Firefox.
It could globally learn which are the best/funniest/most popular FireSomethings, and, as such, the FireSomethings will get better and better.
Ok, I'm kidding, but that would be funny:D
Where did you get the impression that 'every' major distro aliases rm to rm -i?
Of the three main distros I used, RedHat, Slackware and Gentoo, Slack and Gentoo do NOT do this, and I cannot honestly remember for RH, but I would guess you are correct.
If you want a more UNIX-y experiance, mabye you should stay away from the mainstream RH/MDK/SuSe, and use the more advanced distros...
I know its offtopic but...where is the charactor with that hat and staff, he looks like a jawa from star wars... i know he is from an old video game, but which??
Well, i slackware's case, if you were wondering, it jumped from 4.0 to 7.0.
The reason, i believe, was so that Pat would stop being pestered by the fact that Slack was 3 linux versions behind the othe rmajor distros (RH, MDK and SUSE were around 7 at at time) I know it is silly, but hey, life is silly
I know we are all REALLY sad about REAL's demise..
I think it is more to do with their annoying habits of putting themselves in the start menu, the quickstart, the system tray, and anywhere else they can get...
The article says that the reason why Rosenfeld didn't submit it was because he didn't like the 'innocent until proved guilty' idea. However, that was not it. Turnitin.com works by keeping all essays submitted into the database, to keep the database growing. Rosenberg was also protesting the idea that his orignal work will be helping a company (A US company, no less) get more money. This this equally as important in his protest
Or, "History doesn't repeat, but it does rhyme".

Knife?
Odd porn...
You should have read furthur... now he's 'approaching middle age' WHat?!
Stop moving two minutes forward in time and stealing my posts!!
Does anyone else find their method of rating silly, especially in terms of RAM?
Say I have 1G of Ram. Am I "512 Mb to 1 Gb" or "1 Gb to 1.5 Gb"? Who knows? Same for any other memory amount, the ratings are unfortunately garbage.
Otherwise, an interesting survey, especially in that it shows much much gamers use AMD (47%) as compared to your average user.

Heh, I wans't saying that there wasn't broadband outside of eastern canada... my point was that a huge majority of Canada is not populated.

When was the last time you installed Windows? The Windows installer isn't graphical either.. the main part at least.

I think his server would have had the same likelihood of surviving if it was using that sort of hardware after that hit....

Except for the fact that MS Office only works on Windows, whereas OO.org is supported on multiple platforms.
Finally, a job that WON'T be outsources to India!! *crosses fingers*

just do "talk ripberger"
IF you do about:config in the adress bar, you can adjust the advanced settings to your heart's content...
Google and Janet Jackson's right boob are CLEARLY the causes of the deterioration of our society!!!!!!!!!
But don't women buy more than men in general? So this isn't too surprising...
