You know I was thought "Turbo Pascal" in School, and it sucked! Why, let me tell you:
There where many things, that where standart in other languages, you couldn't do.
There were lot of bugs in the compilier, i believe they are still in there.
The Debugger was a piece of shit, because it never ever told what was really brocken, but what wasn't.
And most of all the speed of the compiled Programms was so bad, because you couldn't use anything on your nice grafic card.
I don't see any advances in biological components.
Why don't they develope some nice cyberware(Neuromancer anyone?), because I can't imagine any bio enhencements that let you see in the dark.
Why compare what can not be compared???

Why is everybody comparing computer RPG's to P&P RPG???
The P&P is without limits, if you can imagine it, you can do it. Now show me a Computer RPG that can do this, not that Computer RPG's are bad, but they are somewhat limited.
The computer has one merit, you can play the RPG's alone.
I use both, playing Computer RPG's of D&D since the Golden Box series, and playing D&D P&P since 1990, so don't tell me am bias.
AFAik, there is no such software for the mac. The only Biometric device I know of, that works more or less, is a mouse for windows and Linux from Siemens with a built-in fingerprintscanner.
I haven't seen this movie yet, but the russian original (ca. 1972) was a great movie in the tradition of 2001. Both films are based on the book of the same name by polish writer Stanislaw Lem.
You are absolutely right, as everytime before, someone will eventually hack this system. This Morons will ever that they should innovate instead of became oppressive.

Hey that is not true, I am from Germany myself and we have some damn funny comedians and shows here: "Die Bully Parade" "Quatschkomedieclub" and "Axel". This shows are a lot funnier then some stupid commerial show in America like Jay Leno.

There ain't no mechanical switches inside a DvD-Drive. It's all done with Firmware.
It would be rather nice to let us know how this should work.

Biometrics are very prone to fake or "forced" identification. I mean most of these devices won't even check if the bobypart is still alive, or not.

Here in Germany it is quiet a success on MTV Germany and we got it uncensored with all the little F-words and the total moronity.
