    ive had rh6.0, win98 and win2k RC2 on my machine with no problems at all.

    the kb article in question serves no FUD or craftiness, but serves to answer the common question "how do i remove LILO from my HDD" that is all.

    thats a lie! you seen this question often on linux NGs. usually one or more people reply kindly with "fdisk /mbr" the people who repsond with flames, we can cartainly do without.

    not really. just stick the NT boot-install disks in, then make like you're going to install and use the built-in fdisk in NT setup to delete your NTFS partitions. it does make sense that win9x fdisk cannot delete NTFS partitions.

    Another way(and less disks) is to boot off a pocket linux floppy and do it from that.

    also, you should know that you can only install Win9x onto the primary (c:)partition. so if you're being clever with boot mgrs, then it makes sense that it wont work.

    what exactly do you want? linux to become the worlds greatest OS but still remain solely in the bedrooms of the "elite"?

    Microsoft, (hey, will you think im cool if i say Micro$oft instead?) got dominant market share. you hate them. Redhat, through their own merits gained a dominant market share and now you hate them? what gives?

    all "consumer" computers are trash. - pak bell, compaq presario etc..

    PC World (UK) has them all - overdesigned cases, looking similar to spaceships, and 14"/15" monitors with crappy speakers built in. - celerons, winmodems, cirrus logic gfx chipsets (ha!), keyboards with "surf the net" buttons on, moulded CDROM fascias(sp?) making upgrades impossible/ugly etc etc.

    Any manufacturer STILL selling 14" monitors deserves to die a painful death. they are doing their customers

    however, the loss of jobs is something to be sorry about.

    i see your point - BUT - whoever said anything about people videoing me in my house? i certainly didn't imply this was ok so where did you get it from? you have taken my argument to the most illogical extreme and thrown it back at me - besides, analyzing what products i buy is the job of the store loyalty cards - you know - where you benefit from lower prices/benefits/cheap booze at xmas and they benefit from your purchasing profile. sounds more like symbiosis than big brother to me.
